Coffee basket It's stuck. Read the manual. Says to use the finger grips and the handle and lift out. Does not move. Looks like the grinder blade is stuck and won't lift out.

Called Cuisinart - they said to remove the basket ( I unplugged and then used pliers to move the blade/shaft up and down until it wiggled loose ) ... use soap and water to remove coffee oil (the real problem) and then pour a little vegetable oil into the female end where the motor engages the grinder blade to lubricate.

I have a Cuisinart Grind and Brew coffee maker that is about a year old. The lower half of the grinder gets stuck. It used to be occasionally but is happening more frequently. It is very hard to get it...

These are notorious for this problem. It is cause by the coffee grinder portion wearing out and sticking. After a while the grinder will fuse to the basket. It is cause by the spinning of the grinder and wear to the grinder shaft or coffee grounds getting into the shaft and causing wear. Either wan the only fix is a new basket.Send Cuisinart an email to complain and they may give you a new one free. I went through 3 before I gave up on the grind and brew model.

I CANNOT REMOVE THE GRIND BASKET TO CLEAN IT.

I suffered with a stuck grider unti for a long time and just solved the problem..... Remove the filter basket and through the front door look up twords the back left. You can see where the grinder unit sits. There is a slot area where you can stick a screw driver under the grinder unit and pry it up. Do this in a jiggling motion and make sure you are well under the grinding unit, doing so on the edge of the grinder unit underneath will not give you enough suface to work with, in fact you will just bend or crack the edge. Looking in from low on the front (kneeling on floor with unit on counter, worked for me) will let you locate where the screw driver or smal pry tool needs to go. Mine was stuck for a very long time and No amount of pulling or prying from the top would work, I made it pop out in a matter of seconds using this technique from the bottom! Good luck, I'm going to finish my cup of coffee now! :-) Steve
a little cooking oil on the shaft before you insert the grinder will help, spray on pam works well and is easy to do...

Cuisinart coffee maker grinder stuck in machine. Can't remove to wash

Same problem and I'm the husband that always got it unstuck...... until this morning. I read somewhere that putting the whole machine in the freezer will work. I did and the grinder just lifted out without any pressure at all! My wife was laughing at me when I was looking on line for a solution but she just smiled when it was removed.......

Cleaning grinding blades

mazzers have 3 springs in grinder body, each one support for upper burr holder. check for them , if it is not the case than consider that the spring could come with coffee. often we see stones and metal parts geting between burrs.
clean it again and look good for 3 springs , if they are in their place, close the burrs to finest than go back for half of circle and grind coffee.

Grinder blades dull

I may be having the same problem. My coffee grinder has had more leftover beans in it more and more this week, until finally today, possibly a quarter teaspoon passed through to the filter basket and the remaining beans were still very much beans. My first assumption was the blades.

Grinder bottom piece cannot be removed

If you open the door in the front and remove the straining basket you will see an open space where the very bottom the grind cup sits. Take a long thin standard head screwdriver and insert it there until you feel the post of the grinding engine against the screwdriver. Turn the screwdriver like you are turning a screw. The grind unit should start to move up. You can try to use the screwdriver to pry upward to finish the job. Another post said that redrilling the brass post insert on the grind cup worked for him. The problem seems to be the grind motor post that has swollen or been misshapen through the use of the machine. If they were to ask me, there is a better design for this contraption, just look at any blender. Flat disks with downward (or upward) facing fingers on the removable container and the motor.

I just got mine to work. It seems that so much water condensation gets into the grinder that there was rust stopping the grinder from moving. Just remove all the parts, especially the blade and basket holder assembly. Take a pair of pliers and twist the grinder stem manually to loosen the rust. Turn it a good number of times and then test it out. I didn't want to use WD-40 on something my wife uses everyday. Good luck.
