It's stuck. Read the manual. Says to use the finger grips and the handle and lift out. Does not move. Looks like the grinder blade is stuck and won't lift out.
Called Cuisinart - they said to remove the basket ( I unplugged and then used pliers to move the blade/shaft up and down until it wiggled loose ) ... use soap and water to remove coffee oil (the real problem) and then pour a little vegetable oil into the female end where the motor engages the grinder blade to lubricate.

I have a Cuisinart DGB-300 Grind and Brew Coffeemaker. The automatic grind is not working. I have follwed the steps in the manual. It doesn't make any noise as if attempting to grind. The grind processed is by-passed going straight into the brew mode. We used the non-grind for about 2 weeks. Thank you.
