Hi,
The pump has either seized up or the motor is bad...

if you can still turn the shaft then it probably is the motor, but if the
pump will not spin with the motor removed then the pump paart is bad...

When turned on you can hear a buzzzing, like electrcicity going into the pmp then pump heats up and trips its saftefy switch. Motor does not turn.

I am assuming that this is not a brand new installation. If it is, go to http://www.femyers.com and download a manual for your pump.

If the pump has worked properly in the past, what seems to be happening is that the motor is locked up and the built in thermal protection is correctly protecting the motor. Or if by "safety switch" you mean the circuit breaker is tripping, then the following still applies.

The pump impeller may be jammed with debris, or the motor bearings may be worn out, causing the rotor to jam and stop rotating. Also a possibility - the seal between the pump and the electric motor has failed, allowing water into the motor and causing a short circuit which trips the breaker.

It is probably time to call the repairman, or replace the pump. Don't keep trying to turn on the motor; it will not fix itself and you may make things worse.

Remember, these pumps must be primed with water first before first use. Look in the Operating Instructions manual.

Breaker keeps tripping when water pressure switch kicks in

I don't know what the pressure switch operates, but I suspect when the pressure switch is actuated, it turns on a pump or a similar load. The breaker is reacting to the load after the pressure switch - not the the pressure switch itself. The switch doesn't make use of electricity - rather it stops the the flow of it, or sends it to something that makes either heat, light or magnetism (as in a motor).

Look at the load that is supposed to start or shut off when the pressure switch "kicks in" There is likely a problem with it - anything from a jammed pump, shorted winding in the motor, water in the motor, crushed / shorted wire, etc.

Hi,I have a travel trailer 37ft. Problem with my ac, the fan starts good but my compressor does not kick on. My next door neighbour says it's the compressor that is done. Could you help me?

see this causes and fix it. God bless you
Motor Trouble Cause Diagnostic Procedure Repair Procedure Electrical Power is Off Check that all service switches for the equipment are in the "on" position.
Check for voltage at the pump motor or pump controls. If no voltage is found, check for voltage at the electric panel.
If power is on to the building, check fuse or circuit breaker serving the electric motor that won't run.
Check for local reset button on the motor (popped out = off )
Check for other power reset or power off buttons such as an access door compartment safety switch that turns off power to the equipment (found on A/C blower compartment doors)
Turn on "off" switches.
Replace bad fuse. Reset circuit breaker; if necessary replace bad circuit breaker.
Let hot electric motor cool down, then push in its reset button.
Be sure all safety interlock switches such as on compartment doors are depressed and that the doors are securely shut. Replace a bad safety switch.

Loose, improper, or broken motor wire Check wiring against the motor installation manual diagram, check all connections for tightness, shorts, burns, damage Rewire or repair or replace wWhen a sealed compressor motor has "burned out" this means that the internal wiring of the motor has become irreparably damaged: the compressor motor windings may be burned and shorted together or shorted to the steel shell of the motor, or the windings may have burned and simply become "open" or disconnected. If the motor has burned out in either of these ways it needs to be replaced.

Hotub clicks and then makes buzzing noise when turned on.

does it blow a breaker? check to see what is going on by unplugging all the pumps, blowers lights and anything else plugged into the circuit board (heater too)
turn the breaker on once everything is unplugged and then proceed to turn the spa off, plug one item back in and turn the breaker back on.
Do this until you find the buzzing....

You may actually have a back relay on the circuit board causing the buzzing by not latching in when the pump or something is trying to come on.

I have a new Hunter Fan that is making a buzzing noise and the lights are flashing when I turn it on. I have four others that are fine.

Right off hand, I'd say, there's some loose wiring somewhere in the fan's electrical connections to the light fixture Removing the light fixture will give you access to that wiring. Be sure the wall switch for that fan is OFF, as well as the circuit breaker for the wall switch.

Hope this helps you to troubleshoot and solve the problem.

Pump makes buzzing noise but does not run. shortly thereafter it trips circuit breaker.

Hi,
The first thing to check is if the pump is siezed up and stopping the motor or if the motor is bad....
Take the motor off of the pump and check to see if the pump will spin... then check if the motor will run without the pump onit...

This will tell you if you have a bad motor or a bad pump...

Bathtub pump totally dead, pump ran dry for 10 sec, is there circuit breakers on pump motors, switch or is it the motor shot. any way to test motor with removing it?

Normally pump motors are connected on a separate
circuit with its own circuit breaker. At your house there is always a electrical control panel housing several circuit breakers for lights, power outlets, range, aircon, motors, etc...Find a tripped off breaker and reset it. To reset the circuit breaker is to switch it to off position and back to on position. Better still you may reset all the circuit breakers except the main
circuit breaker (biggest amp rating).
After resetting the circuit breakers, try to switch your
bathtub pump on, (to test it, if it is still okey). Other-
wise, your motor is damaged and you got to have the
motor rewinded, to be operational.

Pump starts and immediately trips breaker

if it buzzes but doesnt actually turn then check the starting capacitor .. when bad, the motor wont know which way to turn and will just buz and get hot until a thermal breaker or external overload breaker trips .. that should happen in about 5 or 10 seconds .. the same thing will happen if the pump is jammed .. make sure it turns freely ..

USQ1102 pump gets power, buzzes, trips breaker

The motor-start capacitor is bad. This is a very common problem. It can be easily and cheaply fixed by replacing the capacitor. Replacements are usually less than $10.

See http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZEIv5ClLqXg for a step=by=step guide.

When you have the capacitor in hand, check the model# which is printed on it. Alternatively, you can Google the motor brand & model to find the parts list which will identify the right one. Then Google the part number, to find a seller.
