Question about Maytag Refrigerators

1 Answer

I have a Maytag French Door refrig, bought 3/05. Am having problem with the freezer door. It pulls out about 6" then hangs up somehow. It started a couple of weeks ago with a clicking sound when it was opened. Any suggestions? Thank you, Mr. Maytag Guy! k.

Thanks for your reply but it did not help. It seems like the runner on the right side is sticking and the door won't open all the way. Anymore ideas????? Thanks! k.

Hello Kay. Begin by checking the contents of the freezer to be sure that there is not some item which is sticking out too far and causing this hangup. Also check the ice maker to be sure that it is not sticking out too far. Remove the ice maker bin and check behind it too. If the problem is still not solved get a can of a penetrating lubricant and lubricate the pivot points at the top and the bottom of the door. Also lube the fridge door while you are at it. Joe

Model # MFF2557HES Top refrigator section stoped cooling freezer is working

You may have Ice buildup in the freezer. You freezer has a fan in the bak that sends the cool air to the fridge. Your fridge dial determines how muh cold air comes from the freezer. Try defrosting the freezer. You may have to pull the back panel off of the inside of the freezer to get the ice thawed. The ice build up is likely causing the air to not get to the fridge. Hope it works.

remove both crisper pans and check the return are duct opennings. next check if there's a built up frost/ice on the rear wall of the frzr. is you frzr fan blowing air? if so, there's a small window inside the refrig's freshfood side back wall towards the cieling, make sure that's open.the cover should snap off. if window/damper is open, go ahead an pour hot water down the return air ducts behind the crisper pans. they look like grill slots in one or both coners

Maytag Refrigerator is 69 degrees

You must check the evaporator fan motor in the freezer.
Is it running?
You may need to push the door switch with the freezer door open for fan to run with drawer open.
Next check the damper in the fresh food section.
Is it open?
Air circulating through?
If not, replace your damper control and thermistor.
