Remove the drive belt and check the rod coming out the motor for operation when the unit is in the on position. If the motor is turning the motor is not at fault but good. Turn off unit! Next, try to turn the brush by hand. If it is hard to turn check both sides
(the ends) for hair build up. It could possibly be loaded with hair or some other type of string like material that has accumulated over the years and is restricting the movement of the brush. Also check the bearings on the ends too.
