Hi,
The compressor information is right on the label on the top of the compressor... On some of the pics in the refrigerator
compressor tip you can see the label of that compressor...
Many times a freezer and/or refrigeratordo not work right because of a dirty condenser coil...there are also many otherthings that can go wrong. If you are hearing a clicking or buzzing then check out thelast two tips.

If your refrigerator is running but warm, then...

Check out this tip that I wrote about that... it is a great place to starttrouble shooting your unit...and something that you can do rather then callinga repair person to do a simple thing for you...

Chest freezer makes a popping noise when it turns on and off

What is the model number? Sounds like a bad connection at the start relay and compressor connections. Better unplug power and inspect each connectioin where wire attaches at the compressor pens under the cover where wires go into compressor.

Worked fine unplugged it and plugged it back in lights on but compressor wont come on

Let see if by chance the defrost timer is stuck in defrost. Here is a photo of the back section of your Click Here=> FUF17DMRWH System Components Item number 121 is the defrost timer and I want you to take a flathead screwdriver and slowly turn the timer dial clockwise until the compressor starts or stops. If doing this will cause the compressor to start you will need to replace the=> WR09X10154 Defrost Timer

If this is not the problem I want you to feel the top of the compressor to see if it is hot or too hot to keep your hand on top. This test you will need to have the freezer plugged in and set to come on. Doing this tells me that the compressor is trying to start but cannot. If this is the case then we will need to replace the start components listed as number 119=> WR08X10038 Overload

and part listed as 128=> WR62X10058 Run Capacitor

Let me know what you find and I will help you locate why the compressor is not running, Thanks Sea Breeze

The starter is no longer available. I have found a generic starter here: http://www.appliancepartspros.com/part_details.aspx?part_id=4503017 Does this look like it will work? They have different...

I use this on a regular basis and have had no issues. I believe it will work. If I had some numbers from the compressor plus a brand name such as Copeland, Tecumsah, embraco, etc., I may be able to tell you more about the compressor HP.

Power off for electrical repair. Plugged floor freezer back in and a loud buzzing noise is ongoing. Not sure if this is a temperature alert or if there is another problem. Thanks for your help.

This sounds as if its a start relay problem. They are attached to the compressor
You will need the model and serial number to get a new one at the appliance
parts store. They are usually under a plastic cover on the side of the compressor
and the cover is retained by a metal spring clip. Remember to unplug unit before
replacing this part. The model and serial number should be located near the compressor.

Frigidaire freezer\r\nSER; LFFU14F5HWC light inside is working, everything in freezer is thawed out.

on the compressor there's a start device but they call it a controller part number 216954200 and it's around 40 to 50 dollars.do you hear a clicking sound every couple of minutes or did you smell a burning smell.it sounds like the compressor isn't running if the freezer is warm, also on the model number there should be a dw and a number at the end,you have to get the model number off of the machine not the book.unplug the machine, remove the back bottom panel and you'll see the compressor, remove the metal clip and slide the controller off of the compressor, when this part fails if you shake it and hear pieces banging around you'll know it's bad or it might smell burnt or you can check it with a meter for continuity.don't remove any wires until you get the new part so you don't get confused when installing the new part.also do you know if the compressor is running?if it is you could have a freon leak in the saeled system,if so change it out.i looked up this machine,do you defrost this yourself?i can't find any defrost parts and how old is this freezer?

Fan runs but the compressor does not run no

While moving the unit you may have jammed or budged the start capacitor which is keeping your unit from turning on. It is located in the back of the unit near the compressor it is oval shaped and silver in color with two wires running out of it. Get the number off of it, go online and search for beverage-air commercial freezer parts. You will need to have the model number to make sure that you get the right parts. Please rate

Checked the compressor terminals the 2 highest read 9.3 while the other 2 read 6.4 and 3.0. Is my compressror bad?

most likely not, but you also need to check from terminal to ground. If you get any reading at all, the compressor is most likely grounded/ bad. Be sure to disconnect all elelctical to unit and all component to compressor.
3 terminals are Start, Run, and Common. Take a reading from common to Start, then common to run.
Add those numbers. Now take a reading from start to run. The totaled numbers should be very close to the run to start numbers. Your numbers look good.
what seems to be the issue? If it is not running, be sure it is getting power and all start components are good. This is usually the most common problem.

Need info on chest freezer serial number 48H2091PSSO-12902566 We don't know the brand or the cubic ft. of it. It is at least 30 yrs. old. Any information you can find on it would be very helpful. Thanks....

A freezer this old will be difficult to find any information on.

There is another number that you might have more success with. Look at the back of the freezer, and there should be a removable plate that will allow access to the compressor. There should be a manufacturer's tag on the compressor with model#, serial#, date of manufacturer, etc for the compressor itself. With the freezer being as aged as it is, the compressor manu. may not have information there either.

Cubic feet can be eyeballed, or measured out. take a tape measure and measure the width of the interior compartment. Then measure the length, and height. For this purpose, ignore the hump or box where compressor sits. Length * Height * Width = cubic feet (if you measured in feet). If you want a more exact number, also measure the compressor hump as well, and subtract that number from the first.

Good Luck!
