Hi,

A problem salt-system pool owners encounter is that the pH rises over time. If the pH is over about 8.3, then your chlorine is rendered partially ineffective, meaning you can have a high free-chlorine reading, but it is restricted. Test the pH and add muriatic acid to maintain your pH is between 7.4 and 7.6.

Let me know,if needed further assistance.

Hope i helped you.

Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!

Do this system have a filter on it to clean it keep tell me high salt

No... The 8110 model does not have an internal filter..If you are getting high salt alarm, check you salt concentration level... Should be between 2000 and 3000ppm.. 2600 ppm optimal. If above 4000ppm, drain about 20% of the water and fill with fresh water and check salt level again.. You should be back to normal.... Hope this helps you... Please write a comment if this helps...

We have a 18x48 ultra frame intex pool. It at first gave us a lot of problems saying low salt so we cleaned the cell with vinegar and it began working no probs for the past 3 weeks. On the weekend I went...

I can't explain all of this but to get the rid of the green and reduce the salt level you need to drain half the water and refill. At this you need to shock it so the chlorine is up to about 10 ppm. You need some way of testing to tell this. If your chlorinator is ok then when you start the pump and chlorinator it should continue cleaning it out. The dead algae will be filtered out with the filter. If the flow slows down you will need to clean the filter with a water sprayer on a hose. I hope this helps.

Just purchased and installed Intex salt water system. It shows low flow and now, after 5 days of installment, the water is completely green (expecting Swam Thing to come out!) I need your guidance to...

Seems like you may not have the pump and the salt chlorinator in sync... If your water is dark green and not a big pool, you may want to drain and refill, if you have a large pool, you may want to shock and then try the following...
1.Make sure you have added the correct amount of salt...
2.Set your timer for your pump for 12 hrs.
3.Wait 15 minutes and then turn on your intex salt water system..
4.Set you hrs of operation on your salt water system for 10 to 11 hrs...
5.After running the system for 3 days, check your chlorine level..

If water clears and chlorine level is high, adjust the time.. You will have to re-sync the pump and chlorinator.. If the pump turns off before the chlorinator finishes it's cycle, you will get a "LOW FLOW" alarm..
I hope this helps and good luck.. Please rate and comment on the information provided.

Hello,
First of all green water can arrise from a lot of different situation.
Low chlorine is one of them coupled with the crappy filter that comes with the intex pools it does not filter enough.

Start with getting your salt level to 3000ppm
any lower than 2700 and you will not generate enough chlorine and any higher than 3500 and you could go cloudy or trigger high salt alarms

you need to get the salt test kit that reads in #'s not color the color ones has to much of a variance
once your salt is at 3000 clean your cell then filter filter filter

I run my filter 24/7 if it is not generating chlorine I am filtering.

Clean your cartridge every few days
I have had the same 2 cartridges for this being my 4th season and have never been green or replaced the filters.
Also I reccomend a non foaming algecide

Just follow directions on bottle

We just replaced the T-cell for our pool. We were

Sound to me that you added wat to much salt.
If you are using a salt test kit that eads in colors throw it away and get a kit that reads in #.s
If you are using the one with #'s then proceed to getting your water to as close to 3000ppm as possible
Drain 20 % water ad fresh and check again keep doing this ti'll you get close to the 3000ppm

any lower than 2800 and you can read low salt and worse of all you will not produce enough chlorine any higher than 3500 and you will go cloudy and read high

It is my opinion that you were low salt and then adding to much salt put you to far to high

remeber anytime you add salt you should filter only for 12-24 hours to distribute the salt properly so the unit knows what it is reading

While adjusting your salt level clean your new cell with vinegar let it soak for a few hours You should have received a cap to cover one end of the cell while soaking
once cleaned it will not grab hold of the salt water until the generator is turned on

Just remeber 3000ppm

Drain water and add fresh. There is no other way to lower salt concentrations.

Low salt indicator

high concentration? Salt is salt except for the fact in aq pool you want 98% pure and it must not be iodized salt
Also before generating salt with the timer you must have the right amount of salt
the #'s in the manual are just guidelines
get a salt test kit and get your pool to 3000ppm you need to filter only 24 hours or so getting to the 3000ppm wheather you ad salt or need to drain water and ad fresh none the less get it to 3000ppm
Now worry about your chlorine level if it is to high leave alone until it comes down if too low then run the generator for a few hours if it does not show on the scale at all try 4-6 hours
you will get a knack for the amount of time you need for your chlorine situation

if once all of this is set right and you still get high reading on salt unit take it apart as directed and spray it out with the garden hose
it is really simple only 4 screws

My salt is high, does this cause pool water to turn green? why is my pool water green?

t is too high, the generator shuts off so no chlorine is being created; hence the green pool. Drain water and add fresh until the salt level is diluted back to the range your generator manufacturer suggests and your chlorine will return. In the mean time, shock the pool to get rid of the algae and the generator should be able to maintain it from there.
