Apple ipod Nano, believe it is 2G, holds 1000 songs. Original problem, my son forgot password to download more music from itunes. Went to Apple store, they reset back to factory default. Had to change from mac back to windows to resync to itunes to reload music back to ipod. This seemed to work fine, but screen was blank. Charged overnigth with wall charger. Music now plays fine but screen is blank. Tried to reset ipod by pushing hold switch back and forth, and then holding menu and center dial down at same time, but no luck. Bank Screen but seems to work fine. tried to reset by pusing menu and center button at same time. Screen still blank, but ipod music still plays fine. What else should I do/try ?????

I found this and it worked!!! Took me some time but yea!!!!

  1. Toggle the Hold switch on and off. (Slide it to Hold, then turn it off again.)
  2. Press and hold the Menu and Center (Select) buttons simultaneously until the Apple logo appears, about 6 to 8 seconds. You may need to repeat this step.
Tip: If you are having difficulty resetting your iPod, set it on a flat surface. Make sure the finger pressing the Select button is not touching any part of the click wheel. Also make sure that you are pressing the Menu button toward the outside of the click wheel, and not near the center.
If the above steps did not work, try connecting iPod to a power adapter and plug the power adapter into an electrical outlet, or connect iPod to your computer. Make sure the computer is turned on and isn't set to go to sleep.

2)for me,when i replug my ipod it showed that FROZED screen.this was pretty sick.so i decided to HOLD the PLAY/PAUSE button for while and it automatically switched off and when i restarted it was working fine.

My 4 GB ipod nano has a blank screen but still lights up, blank with NO logo and I can play songs there is just no way to see what you are doing. I unplugged the ipod and the screen has been lit and blank...

First of all try rebooting your Ipod by holding down the center button while holding down on the menu button at the same time. When the Apple logo appears, you Ipod is rebooting.

If that doesn't work, restore your Ipod back to factory setting in Itunes. It could be that the brightness and contrast settings of your screen got out of position allowing the screen to appear blank.
