Pioneer receiver -no volume or volume display on screen. As if the function has disappeared. Knob still turns; just NO effect

Did the volume control get an impact? Could be internal damage to the digital control. Did it act up prior to this non-function, like volume went up on a down command or jump up or down when a slight turn was made? Thnose would reinforce a damaged volume control.

Having a problem in turning down the volume both on the unit itself & the remote, can increase the volume both ways but have to wait 15 plus before the remote will turn down the volume. The control on...

The volume control in this unit is most likely an Encoder and these have a nasty habit of getting dirty inside and false reading back to the computer that runs the receiver. In the past , I've had good results opening up the units and spraying what's called De-Oxit D5 into that volume control and rotating the thing a couple dozen times. . De-Oxit can be found on Amazon or Radio Shack

Sticky volume control when turning up and down

The volume control needs a good flush out, take the unit apart to expose volume control pod, buy some electronic contact cleaner and flush the pod while turning the volume back and forth, repeat 2 or 3 times. Note some pods have small slot where you can spray.

I have a 2008 hyundai elantra...when listening to the radio or cd it sounds like someone is messing with the volume, turning it up and down.

If the issue you are describing follows this pattern (when slowing down, the radio turns down in volume, and when speeding up it turns up in volume), then your vehicle is equiped with an automatic volume control. This function was to allow the operator not to have to touch the volume control while driving. The volume increases to compensate for road noise. You should have a function control button that will allow you to turn this function off. Hope this helps.

Computer Speakers

Try turning the volume on the computer volume control up and turn the volume control on the speakers down, or try the other way, turn the volume control on your speakers up, and the volume control on the computer down. I've had this problem before and this was the way I found a resolution.
