Question about Heating & Cooling

1 Answer

My shark steam mop heats up the water, but the steam won't come out. There seems to be a big buildup of something on the inside of the attachement. It won't come off by scraping (like with something sharp). What can I use to dissolve this build-up (since I'm only using water - what could the build-up be?) Is it ok to just let it soak in something?

The build up is probably lime scale. Try soaking it in CLR overnight, also if there are any little holes where the mop releases the steam, poke them gently with a toothpick or bread wrapper wire to remove any residue.

The steam mop doesn't seem to be "steaming"...even though I leave it on long enough to heat up. I can hear the steam but it doesn't seem to heat the pad

Cleaner heats up but no steam is coming out. It let loose a big ball of steam when I plugged it in, then nothing and still won't heat up enough to produce steam.
