Hi,

Unplug the TV for few minutes, say 30 minutes and then turn it ON. If it still does not work,it confirms an internal failure. The main cause on this model is ' power supply board '. Other than this, even the faulty boards could cause the same problem. The TV has to be opened, carefully inspected and then the part has to be replaced. If you have electronics repair experience, could read schematics, would be able to use multimeter and could keep all precautions, revert and i could tell you where you could buy a cost effective service manual and would provide you few pointers that would help you to fix this problem.

Let me know,if needed further assistance.

Hope i helped you.

Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!

What causes the sanyo DP42740 plasma tvs green power light turn on and off?

These blinks [flashes] are fault indication (Error Codes). From the number of blinks occur at one time switch ON, you can get an idea about the faulty circuit section inside it.This will make repair easy. These are called blinking codes. Make sure about the exact number of blinking of the standby/power LED, by switching On & OFF the set, for at least two times.Count it carefully. If you wish to get some details, check the site linked here.It has details about blinking codes, and fault locating procedure, to many popular brand TVs and other devices.Viewing it in "Mosaic" or "Magazine" will make surf easy.

Where is located the fuse in a tv sanyo model No. DP42740

There are several fuses on the power supply board.

The main one is right next to where the cable from the AC connector is on the power supply.

BTW you may want to check these listings too:

(although if you are looking for a fuse that probably means totally dead TV and if that;s the case then you do not need a main board repair)

Sanyo dp42740 tv shuts off and on still has picture and sound

Two places are suspect---one is the manual on/off button on the set--actual button may look ok but it is common to have the momentary switch under it be bad in this way.

Second area to suspect is the power supply inside the set switching on and off because of a defect there or the control circuit that turns it on and off.
