Question about HP Compaq 6720s Notebook
The issue might be with the charger which is not supplying power or is with the charger port in the laptop itself,it might be loose or it might be completely broken...try with different working charger which is working for another same kind o laptop if you can if it turns on the laptop replace or repair the charger..if the other charger also don't work it should be the port take it to the hp store to get it repaired...

Maybe your battery was damage due to over charging it. You need to replace your battery. The desktop icon can says it's fully charged because you have plugged it and those are the indication that your battery was damage if you unplugged the AC power. The battery of the laptop are disposable and it cannot be repaire. The best solution of your problem was to replace your battery.
