Hello

Navigate your internet browser to the Linux Foundation OpenPrinting Database

Click on "Show" and select the manufacturer brand of your printer (canon)

Select the model of your printer.

Click on the driver download link for your printer model and download the driver to your desktop.

Install the driver to complete setup of the printer.

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

I had install all the available drivers for Canon LBP 2900 on Ubuntu (Linux) but it's not working. Because the printer model is LBP 2900B instead of LBP 2900. Can you arrange the drivers for LBP 2900B for...

The 2900 driver should work for the 2900E. The problem may be that there is a:

Canon SENSYS i-LBP-2900, and

Canon Laser Shot LBP-2900

Which printer do you have? Which driver did you download?

You can try this site if you can confirm your model:

See here for Linux compatibility for Canon products:

Trust this is helpful. Please vote. Thank you. :)

I have an ASUS netbook that runs linux. I don't know linux, but was told to upgrade to ubuntu. I don't know how. Anyone know how?

1. I would suggest finding out which model Eee PC you are using and the hard drive size & type (4GB SSD, 160GB SATA, etc...). If you have less than 4GB, I would probably recommend using another Linux distro, as the Netbook Edition of Ubuntu is pretty heavy.

2. Next, I would probably suggest plugging in the Eee PC (Software/OS installation is very power intensive).

3. Download your distribution (Ubuntu Netbook Edition or Desktop, etc).

4. Download a copy of unetbootin for your PC (unetbootin.sourceforge.net -- There are Linux & Windows versions available.)

5. Using a USB thumb drive (USB Memory stick), you will want to wipe the drive (format using FAT/FAT32 filesystem).

6. Run Unetbootin, selecting the proper USB thumb drive & ISO image from the Ubuntu website.

7. After Unetbootin is finished, close it and safely disconnect the USB drive.

8. Next, plug the USB thumb drive into the Eee PC.

9. Turn on power to the Eee PC & after seeing the initial BIOS splash, hit the ESC key on the keyboard. This should bring up a boot selection screen. Using the arrow keys, select the appropriate USB drive and hit Enter (Return).

10. If all goes well, you should be running Ubuntu Desktop/Ubuntu Netbook Edition as a live desktop. (The installer is a link on the desktop.)

11. There are several step-by-step guides out there, so check them out, if needed. The installer should be very simple on this type of hardware, etc.

Good Luck!

How to install canon ip pixma 1680 printer for linux operating system.

Go to http://www.canon.com and choose your country. Choose downloads and navigate your way to the download area. In canada and US, there was no listing for the Pixma IP 1680. In the 1600 series there was no download for Linux. It would seem that Canon does not support the Linux operating system. Either get a printer that works on Linux or change to Windows. You probably do not want to do either of these.

My netbook screen resolution is no good for canon instal disk

You didn't provide what netbook you got, but most netbooks today got built in SD-card readers. If your netbook does, the best solution is to remove the card from the camera and insert it into the netbooks card reader. The Canon G9 supports SD-cards, as well as SDHC, MMC, MMCplus and HC MMCplus compatible cards. I suggest using a SD or SDHC card.
You will not need to install canon software to access your pictures if you use the card reader, you will be able to access and copy/move them from the memory card in explorer (or equalent if you use Linux on your netbook). Also, it's a much faster way to move pictures from the camera to the computer, because the card reader interface is a lot faster than the USB interface to the camera.
If your netbook does not have an internal card reader, you could buy a SD card with built in USB, such as this one: http://www.cdrdvdrmedia.com/ultra-sd2-card-2gb-sandisk.html This SD card behaves like a normal memory card in your camera, but plugs directly to an empty USB port on your netbook. The card will be accessable as any removable storage, in Explorer (or equalent if you use Linux).
A third solution would be to get a cheap USB 2.0 card reader. Almost any cheap USB 2.0 accepts SD cards, and would be a lot faster than connecting the camera to the netbook with a USB cable.
I hope this help you!
/Chris

Downloading skype onto my acer aspire one netbook

For aspire one you need to download the Fedora 7 package from the Skype Website.

Afterwards, just do what your aspire asks you to do. When everything is installed, just press alt+F2, type in "skype", en press "Run". Skype will start up. That's it
