Question about Electrolux Epic 6500 Vacuum

How do you lower the head?

My vacuum is not picking up very well. I just replaced the bag.....no help. I don't see a lever or anything to lower or raise the head on the power drive. Thanks!

Do you by chance own a dog? Usually problems just like this are solved by removing the blockage between the bag and where you notice the vacuum has decreased. In extreme circumstances, I've seen the fan blades themselves, at the motor, have been broken requiring replacement.

There are a few potential solutions you should try to fix the suction of your Electrolux vacuum. The first thing you should check is the height of your brush-roll. Your height setting may be too high for the type of floor you are vacuuming. Raise or lower your brush-roll depending on if you are vacuuming on carpet, tile, or wood surfaces.The second thing you should check is the vacuum bag. If it is full your vacuum can lose suction. This is simply remedied by replacing it with a new and clean bag. The third reason for a loss of suction is your hose is clogged. Check the hose for debris or foreign objects that may be obstructing the flow of air in the vacuum. The last potential reason for your vacuum losing suction could be the brush-roll itself. If it is clogged with dirt and hair it may not be spinning and not picking anything up. Check to see the condition of your brush-roll. If it is clogged remove the debris.

We have a Miele Silver Moon vacuum that isn't


Hi dear.There are two type of attachments for this vacuum cleaners to pick up the pets hair,fluff & so on.They call it"Turbo & Power Brush".Turbo brush operates with machines suction & Power one operates with small electric motor which is built in the unit.They work with the same prenciple.There is a belt drives the rotary brush.OK.there are two small yellow screw underneath the unit.Please undo them,take of the cover & clean the rotary brush,check for the belts tension.It should be enough tight to drive the brush.If not ask for spare part from Miele in your country.After cleaning please put it back in order.To test it,attached to the vacuum.Turn the power on for Turbo brush,as long as suction starts,brush should start turning too.For the Power one,there should be power button on the handle to turn it on & off.Press it.It should work.On both of the unit,brush should spin good & strong enough to do the job when it's attached the surface you are vacuuming.Check the brush after each use,cleaned if neccesary. How do I install a new bag into the electro lux oxygen vacuum


I had the same problem. I was worried about pulling on the cardboard, that it would break. There is a little yellow lever and I could not understand what it was for. Finally, I decided to go ahead and pull on the cardboard and slide out the bag. It worked. I am not sure the yellow lever does anything, although it might help to push it to the right. The bag slid out and the new one slid in.

No Suction


Your Power head is blocked with hair or dirt,,or the hose which connects the Upright with the power head is blocked.
Try taking a steel coat hanger apart (straighten it out) and then push it into the pickup hose to remove blockage.

Dirt devil swivel glide - no suction


check the filter gauze on the unsud of vack where bag is if this is blocke you will not have vacuum as there will not be ventilation thro this filter should be able to feel blow of air from this vent when vacuuming up hope this helps good luck from uk !

My old canister model 116 followed with numbers 2839580 marked Kenmore 3.9 with power-mate, worked fine until the bag got overly full. I have changed the bag, cleaned the filter, and removed a nasty hair/fur/dust clog :-p from the lower metal tube of the power mate. It now has very weak suction and won't pick up anything. I suspect a clog in the grey plastic flexible tubing attached to the canister but cannot get it apart. Advice?

I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure. Kenmore 22313 Bagged Canister Vacuum. The best way to find a clog in an electric hose is to use a steel ball or a large marble to place inside the hose and to let it so threw as far as it can to determine where the hose clog is. Once you have determined where the hose clog is then you can use a small end of a broom handle of take an old wire coat hanger and place a hook on the end and try to pull the clog out of the electric hose – the electric hose is very expensive so try not to damage the hose in any way, shape or form. Or another way is that id you have another canister vacuum you can try to pull the clog apart by using two vacuums turned on and running. If you are successful then run the round marble or steel ball thru the hose again and the clog should be cleared.

Hello,
I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure.
This is kind of a general question and I will try to explain the best I can. Most Kirby’s have a vacuum head and sometimes a shampoo head, the vacuum head is removable on most Kirby’s and the vac head comes off the front for a brushroll and belt change. When you vacuum and you go to adjust the vacuum head, raise the height adjustment all the way u to the top with your foot, then listen to the tone change, @ first you will hear air pulling thru and the brush has not hit the carpet as of yet, that is the sound the you are listening for, once the brushroll hits the carpet – there is a definite tone change and that is when you have it adjusted correctly, try to vacuum with it set that way, if it is picking up well – you’re OK, if not adjust if down one more click. Also remember to do a belt change every 4 to 6 months for good cleaning, change the bag more often because it will pup better with a new belt and bag, or if you don’t have a paper bag, take and scrape the inside of the cloth bag with the scraper provided in the small zipper section. Please refer to the owner’s manual or trouble shooting guide or to your local vacuum cleaner dealer or in the yellow pages, also you can use the Kirby factory or website listed below:
