Question about Toshiba NB205-N210 Netbook

2 Answers

When I turn notebook on it only powers to the screen that says f2 for set up or f12 for boot options, occasionally I can hold the f12 key while powering up notebook, release key when it comes to that screen and it will continue to boot up and run perfect for hours on end until I shut down again. Sometimes I can get it to boot with the f12 key within the hour, sometimes I have to wait days.

There is an easy way to recover Windows Passwords required no reinstalling Windows OS and no computer skills. You can download a windows password reset tool on the internet. It can reset Windows login Passwords. You could get back into Windows just within few minutes. I recommend this site http://www.reset-windows-password.com

When i click start button lap is work with show like as press F2, F12. then when i pressed any key the widows is start. how to solve this problem.

If you leave it, does it boot after 30Seconds or so? If it does the bios is set to standard boot. Setting up fast boot will remove the F2/F12 option.

Belta notebook usb/network booting windows system?

When you press the power button normally the boot options will display on the screen. Most times it is the F12 key to select the boot option. This is a temporary change only good for the current boot cycle.

Also most times the F2 key will get you into the Bios or System Setup where you can change the boot option and make it a permanent change.

How can I change boot sequence in Compaq Evo N410c?

You need to access your BIOS configuration. 1. To do this, shutdown your computer and boot it by pressing the power button. 2. You need to hit F10 when the computer first powers up in order to get into BIOS (Note that the key is usually different for different computers. If F10 doesnt work, try F2, F12, Delete or F9. 3. Once in the BIOS, you should find the boot sequence option.
Hope this helps!

Boot Priority on Dell Latitude 100L
  1. Turn On Your PC
Have you ever noticed the messages that pop up on the screen as soon as you turn on your PC? These messages tell you a key combination you can press to enter "Setup" or the "BIOS." Watch your screen and see if you can read what keys to press.
  2. Press the Keys to Enter Setup Mode
If you did not see a message telling you what keys to press, try tapping the following possibilities as you turn on the machine:
    • Esc
    • F2
    • F12
    • F10
    • F1
After pressing Esc or other key, you will most likely see instructions telling you how to enter "Setup Mode". Follow those instructions.
tip.gif On some computers, you must hold down the key before you press the power button to turn on the computer. For example, if you are converting a Toshiba laptop to a Linux Workstation, you must hold down the Esc key and then press the power button. The computer then asks you to press F1, and you can then set the "Boot Priority."
  3. Using the Arrow Keys, Choose the "Boot," "Boot Order," or "Boot Priority" Option
The menu of choices you see will be different for different kinds of computers. Remember that the choice you want is the "Boot" order or "Boot Priority." On some computers, this is called the "Start Up Options" or "Start Up Sequences." You are going to change where the PC will look for boot information when it starts up. (CD-ROM, HARD DRIVE/HDD, LAN, FLOPPY, USB). If you wish to boot from your Hard drive, then select it as your First Priority.
  4. Using the instructions on the screen, save your settings and start up your PC. The PC must boot from the HDD. Regrds

Problem with keys used to enter the cmos

For Toshiba notebook PCs manufactured since the introduction of Windows XP, one or more of the following methods will be effective:
  • Toshiba Hardware utility method: Run the Toshiba Hardware utility from the Toshiba Console. It may also accessible (as 'HWSetup') from the Windows Control Panel. Changes to some of the settings will require re-starting the computer. This method is the only way to access the BIOS settings on some notebook PCs (Satellite 5000 series, for example). (For these machines, pressing and holding the F12 key immediately after powering-on the notebook will allow you to alter the notebook's boot priority.)

If the Toshiba Hardware utility is not present, try the F2 key method and the Esc key method (see below).
  • F2 key method: Turn the computer on. If you see an invitation to press the F2 key to enter Setup, do so. The Setup screen will appear.

  • Esc key method: Turn the computer on. If you do not see a prompt to press the F2 key, then immediately press and hold the Esc key for three seconds, and then release it. When prompted to, press the F1 key. The Setup screen will appear.
For more information search on toshiba web.
