Graphics card

no need. because the on board vga pin won't work after inserting a graphics card. if you want to connect more monitors, you better buy a vga-splitter (1 into 2, 1 into 4, 1 into 10 . . . )

Ok, I changed my video card ( hp: p6230f) I still have no signal in your opinion would you go with monitor failure or motherboard? I have also checked all connections. Soon as I turn it on it scans reads...

1.If your display come during start up windows then its problem with graphic settings.
2.check moniter with another pc if its work on that pc then its your card problem.

In the case of 1 you have to go in safe mode and change the graphic setting.you have to change frequency hertz from advance setting to 60hz or 75hz which is mostly compatible with all moniters. And restart pc.you also check display driver correctly installed.

in the case of 2 problem change card or connec it with built in vga card and check your graphic card with another pc.you should find what is problematic by follow these steps.

I have a problem with my new engtx460 video card from nvidia. It causes freezes on welcome screen on the windows login.

1- you should change the windows.
every time you change a main part of your computer (like motherboard or CPU) , you should change windows or it will hang or crash.
2- run windows in safe mode.
then download and install a new Graphic Driver.

ATI radion 512mb AGP graphics card driver

You can find drivers for your graphics card at the following link:

http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownload/Pages/index.aspx

The category and your description don't quite match up, but if you have a Radeon X1050, then the following applies:

Step 1: Desktop Graphics
Step 2: Radeon X Series
Step 3: Radeon X1xxx Series
Step 4: Your operating system

Change the appropriate steps if that is not your graphics card.

Graphics

Graphics cards on laptops cannot be changed or upgraded. In order to do this, I believe you have to change out the screen, because graphics cards in laptops are within the screens.

Adding a graphics card

You should be OK with the graphics card as long as you choose a PCI-e version. If you are confident enough to change the power supply and the RAM you are OK to do a graphics card. If your power supply is at least 350W you should be OK. The HP website does not specify what the power supply is so I cant advise on this. The graphics you mention is not graphics but the chipset on the motherboard. If you seat the graphics card securely without too much force and then power up your pc and load the drivers from the disk which comes with the card you should have no problems.

Compaq 510s sff. Graphics Card

Hi Mikey You need to go to your bios setting and change your graphic adaptor from PCI/.. to AGP 1- turn your computer off (Shut Down) 2- keep press and release "delete" key on your keyboard while turning your computer on untill you go to bios (normally blue screen) 3-find your desplay/graphic or anything that is related to graphic. 4- Change it to AGP Now it should work but if it didn't work: 1- Faulty Display (Monitor) 2- Not compatible graphic card(rearly) 3- loose or damaged cables 4- Damaged Motherboard please let me know of your progress Kind Regards
