Even if a laptop suffers quite a heavy knock, it doesn't always show up immediately. I'm guessing the blow it took has done it some harm but I have come across cases where a laptop that suffered a knock did work for a short time afterwards.

Without admitting liability unless there is obvious case damage, I'd submit a hardware failure ticket to your manufacturer if the machine is still under warranty. If it's not, then you may have to decide if it's worth paying for a repair. Either way since it worked right away, the problem obviously isn't the hard drive, so whatever you decide to do you will be able to take the laptop to a shop and have any important data copied off the hard drive prior to either repairing or scrapping it. Be aware most places DO charge for this, when I last checked the going rate was around $70

Hello so I spilled water on my laptop the other night however I took the power out and I turned it upside down and drained the water out In the morning when I went to start it it turned on for a sec then...

Hi,

It would have been better to leave the computer sit for few days without Turning it ON.
It is possible that the laptop wasn't completely dry and that would have resulted in a short circuit of some part/component inside the laptop.
Try taking out the battery (unplug the power cord too) and try turning it ON again in few days.
If nothing works you need to get the system serviced/checked by a Tech.

Let me know what happens
Thanks.

If by wont start up you mean the screen shows nothing and their are no errors you the motherboard on it is probably damaged beyond repair, and the laptop will need to be replaced. However, if you have an error about boot devices you may wish to look at this tip

About a week ago I spilled some water on my ASUS U81A laptop keyboard. Put it upside down, turned it off, and took the battery out immediately. Opened up the keyboard to help it dry. Two days later I...

You should fully disassemble the laptop & thoroughly inspect its inside. Look for any traces of water on the circuit boards & on other components. On circuit boards, water damage appears in the form of whitish traces. These needs to be wiped off. This can be done using a tooth brush moistened with few drops of hand sanitizer liquid.
Check all internal connectors & make sure that no water seeped into them. Dry them if needed.
When you are done, re-assemble back the laptop.
If the water fell on the keyboard & you found out that the keyboard is no longer working, then you will have to replace the keyboard.

Total battery power remaining: Unknown

Well you can try a system restore.

1.) start
2.) programs / accessories / system tools
3.) system restore

follow the on screen instructions too restore the computer to a few days before it started having problems.

Chances are that the battery is shot if system restore fails.

When you turn the laptop on hit f8 until the menu comes up, try use the last good known configuration. If that does not work tap f8 goto safe mode and then to system restore and restore it to an earlier time. Let me know if it works.

Cannot start up my laptop since in done an update

Try booting into "Last known good configuration" it is on the same screen as Safe Mode, if that does not work, you can try to run CHKDSK /r from the windows install CD, just choose "Repair" in the option, if this does not work I suggest removing that hard drive and slaving it into another computer to get your data off and then reload Windows onto it. It is missing a .dll
