Philips DVP3020 does not support popular vidoe formats such as DivX / xvid / mp4. so if you download movies from the internet and burn to a DVD, chances are it will not work. this philips player is very basic and can only play regular DVDs, VCDs and audio CDs. that is why it is cheap. you should try Philips DVP 3010 or 5140, even better the 5960.

What is the vedio format of a dvd player???

I would try putting your videos on a flash drive, under a mp4, avi, or wmv format. If you are trying to play regular DVD's that you own then there should not be an issue, most in car DVD players read the format of legitimate DVD's. If you need help learning how to convert video files, dont worry, I put a link below.

^this is for AVS software specifically, but other programs works similarly.

Cd won't play

Use a DVD authoring software package to burn it - most DVD players need the information in DVD Format, so "VIDEO_TS" and "AUDIO_TS" folders need to be there with video in VOB Format. I recommend IMTOO DVD Creator 6 or above. Drag video in, and click burn. Taaah Daahhh a working dvd pops out. Use DVD-R discs for best compatibility and you should be fine :)

I HAVE BURNED A VIDEO TO A DISC BUT IT WILL NOT PLAY ON MY DVD PLAYER

It's possible that either the format of the disc or the format of the movie is incompatible with your DVD player. Not all players will play all of the disc formats, those being DVD+R, DVD-R, DVD+RW, DVD-RW. Check to make sure that you have used a format that is compatible with your player; your manual, or even the box the player came in should give you a list of what will work.

The other possibility is the format of the video. If you made an exact copy of a retail DVD it should work as long as the format of the disc is okay. If you used the .avi, .divx. .mkv, format or anything similar, then your player may not be capable of playing it. If you are able to play the video on your computer, but not on your player, then the format may be the issue. Most players capable of playing those types of formats will have the DIVX stamp on the player, usually on the front of the player.

The only other problem may be whether or not you finalized the disc itself. Some players will not play discs that have been left open for more additions.

Hopefully this information will help you to identify your issue. Please let me know if I can supply you with further information.

My dvd player doesn't support wmv, avi, dat, mpeg, mp4 or 3gp. What should i do

This DVD player is supposed to support:

Supported Audio Formats Audio CD, MP3
Supported Video Formats DVD
Number of Audio Channels 4 Channels
Included Units In-Dash Player, In-Dash Monitor, Amplifier
Supported Media Types DVD-R, DVD-RW, CD-R, CD-RW

Just stick with these formats and it should work fine...are you trying to view burned movies or something. From the looks of it, it should play any DVD or CD just fine. Try to steer clear of those formats you listed.

My LG DVD palyer will not play Windows Media 7

Hi,its obvious from your problem that both windows media 7 and mpeg video formats are not compatible with your dvd player,as you know, the windows media 7 is a very recent media player which is compatible with only very few dvd players so its not a defect with your dvd player, however you can go through your manual to see the list of video formats supported by your dvd player.
Thanks and take care

Converting Movies To Play On My Home Dvd Player

Convert video to .avi or DVD (Audio TS- Video VS) format.
Many common dvd players can play .avi files
(.avi files are very compact).
All dvd players play TS/VS format.
AVS4U is a reasonably priced (approx $50)downloadable suite of programs that can perform all the conversion tasks you need for audio & video.

DVD DOESNOT PLAY REAL PLAYER VIDEO

This model cannot play real player video files your model work on DVD, CD, and on the following compressed file formats:

Compression formats - MPEG1 , MPEG2 , DivX 3.11 , DivX 4.x , DivX 5.x , DivX 6.0

Your player can play only mpeg , avi , and divx, not real player .rm files. I don't think there are many DVD that can play real player files around.

Nero 7 burning used for pictures/video

There are many was to burn photo or dvd using nero.
The only thing you need to know is what format your dvd player accepts. If it accepts jpeg or kodack then you can burn staright to the cd.
If your dvd player hase Divx the tiy can burn any media to cd using Divx player. If not then you need to convert the file to dvd format.
Using Nero to make a dvd.

1. click on Nero and select DVD on the top middle and then click on the tab Photo & DVD
2. Then click on MAKE YOUR OWN DVD
this will open a new window here you need to select from the right hand side ADD VIDEO FILES.
3. Once loaded click next and let Nero recode the video format to dvd.
4. Insert a new dvd and burn it

This is the only way to recode a normal video file to dvd format.

Hope it works for you as its worked for me many times in the past.

Good Luck!!

Playing movies from ipod

Hey!
Usually, the iPod videos are in MP4 and MOV format, while, the DVD player can't play video in MP4 and MOV format but DVDs. Therefore, you need to convert your iPod video into DVD so that it can be played by DVD player. I am now using this Wondershare DVD Converter Studio which works fine. It can convert video to DVD, convert between almost all kinds of video and convert DVD into video. If you want to have a try, you can free download it at: http://www.dvd-ripper-copy.com/dvd-converter-studio.html#181.
Hope that helps.

Your player may only be able to play DVD-format discs. Try converting the video with Nero or WinAvi or DVDFlick to true DVD format.
