SOURCE: Wash motor does not run: Inlet/Drain error

Wordhog: Does sound like a siezed wash pump to me. Wash motor needs to run to get the correct level of water.

To drain a Miele dishwasher, start the machine on a cycle. All the Miele range of dishwashers drain before filling. Then hold in the start button until the end/finish light is lit. Keep doing this until all the water has gone. You could just get a jug and bail it out. Once the jug does not do the job anymore, switch to a cup, I use a very large syringe for the remaining half a litre.

Try a hard reset first..Unplug the machine from power source, wait about 10 minutes, and try again..The other thing you can do is to check the water inlet valve and tubing for any kinks, etc..

If the issue still occurs, better call the point of sale or the manufacturer, as your machine is still under warranty. I wouldn't recommend opening it up to conduct any repairs as it will void the warranty.

Usually indicates a intake or drain fault - could be a plugged drain line at the garbage disposal or insufficient water coming into the unit

Hello & Welcome to FixYa

The inlet/outlet light is flashing due to blocked drain pump, you can try to clean it and also check the right side behind the front kick plate. Please get back to me if you have any other questions.

Possible that the INLET and OUTLET - DRAIN filters are clogged or there is limited action. Remove and clean inlet and drain filters.
Also check on the connectors from the panel, reset all connections.

Which side is the inlet side filter or pump?

Water goes into the center inlet of the pump first. Then it exits the pump from the side outlet and goes into the backwash valve. From there, it goes either into the filter, backwash, drain or waste depending how the valve is set.

After dishwaher cycle complted water still remains

There is possibly a partial blockage in the outlet, preventing the water from draining out in the preset time. Remove the bottom strainers plates and make sure that there is nothing obstructing the outlet pipe and the pump or the selector valve. If possible back flush through the outlet pipe and try draining the machine again before using it again.

Is there a height requirement for the water inlet to a top loading washing machine? Is there a height requirement for the water outlet/drain to a top loading washing machine?

There is no requirement for the water inlet, but the drain hose does, one it comes out of the machine it needs to go up to roughly the height of the machine before it goes into the drain. Hope this helps

My water heater has three water connections on the top of it one has a C for cold is that a inlet or outlet ? IT'S THE COLD INLET. The other spot has a H for hot is that a inlet or outlet ? IT'S THE HOT OUTLET. And the other one is not marked what is that one for and is it a inlet or outlet ? please email me at nsjuby@yahoo.com. The last one is a pressure release valve that lets off excessive pressure when the temperature goes too high in the unit. When you install the heater, it should be installed into the drain pan that existed before or into a new one. You should also install a drain pipe from the valve to that drain pan, or into the drainage system for the house. This may depend on the codes where you live. Also install a good quality shut off valve on the inlet side for emergencies. A Ball type is good. Hope this helps,
Best Mark

How to set up

You can go to www.haywardnet.com and download a manual for your exact model. When you say how do you set up, from scratch or to startup. The inlet and outlets are marked. Basically your pump suction line from the pool skimmer and/or main drain goes to the pump. The discharge of the pump goes to the filter inlet. The filter outlet goes back to the pool return outlets in the pool. The waste goes to the ground or a hose to any safe place to deposit lots of water.

The water and soap are not coming out of the cleaner. It is heating and pulling air back through.

Related issue: In general, if plain water is not run through the system (and drained out!) after each use, the water can leave "boiler scale" in small inlet and/or outlet tubes on the heater (up inside the handle). If it fills the inlet/outlet tube, this will stop ALL water flow, even if you're not using the 'heat' function, because the water goes through the heater whether the heater is on or off. I was able to get the flow going by digging out the corrosion from inside the inlet/outlet tubes on the heater where the clear, plastic, inlet and outlet hoses attach. It's been working fine for a few years since the fix.
