Question about RTO Echo Pb-755 Backpack Blower In Box

Pb 755 runs but when you open it up for more power it will not give it to you charge fuil filter ,air filter new spark plug new could it be the rings

Does it still run the same or bog out? Look at the fuel line going into the carb and see if it has bubbles in it. When you pump the primer you will see them moving in the line. If so then replace the line where it is leaking. It could be coming from the carb to the primer. Then it is coming from inside the carb. Needs to be rebuilt or at least cleaned. Take it off and slowly take it apart careful not to damage the gaskets. And you can clean it and put it back together. Or get a kit. Probably 15 or so. Hey Theresa, IF ALL the items you mentioned are RIGHT...Time to run a compression check,, this will require two people.. and a compression gauge that you screw into the spark plug hole. This will give you an indication of the condition of the internal components..(Piston/rings/cylinder walls - valves/seats/clearance)..Do one cylinder at a time... with all spark plugs removed ...You need to REMOVE ALL SPARK PLUGS ANY TIME YOU TEST FOR COMPRESSION - so the engine will not crank!! Install the compression gauge with the correct adapter (match the spark plug thread length).. seat it lightly so you don't distort the o-ring seal.... now - HOLD THE THROTTLE WIDE OPEN and crank for 5-8 seconds.. the gauge should read at least 120 PSI+...( I have seen some engines run fine with as little as 100psi-rare). If every cylinder checks over 120psi.. that should eliminate the piston/ring valves/seats/clearance possibilities. If any of the cylinders show a low compression or a A LARGE difference between them (over 25psi), time to have a qualified professional look at it...Once you have finished this test, and all cylinders show over 120psi..(+-12psi) ... its time to look back at the carb/choke.. have it cleaned and set by a qualified professional!

Echo PB 251 won't run. replaced plug, gas, fuel filter, air filter. took carb a part, and cleaned with carb cleaner, used the compressed cleaner to clean out venturis/ports.


Wow! with all you have done it should run. Be sure the switch is on but if you are getting spark, it should be on. I would take it to the echo place for service.

I'm 99.9% sure it's the fuel line. The ethnoll in gas really shrinks the oem fuel lines

If it turns, then the battery is OK. Either spark plugs are not firing in proper order (wrong firing order), no power to spark plugs, or no fuel because of fuel restrictions (dirty fuel filter). Inspect the air filter to ascertain its not clogged air. If you smell gas, then you saturated the spark plugs, which is why it refuses to run.
Let it sit for half hour to let spark plugs dry. Inspect to ascertain its not dirty spark plugs, which will also prevent engine from running. After ascertaining its proper firing order, spark plugs are clean, and there's power to distributor cap, ascertain there's fuel in fuel lines by squirting half second (short squirt) of starting fluid into air filter. Close the air filter housing to trap flammable starting fluid gas. Turn engine without giving throttle. Let starting fluid be ignited by spark plugs. If it won't start, then spark plugs are not firing to ignite starting fluid gas. If it starts briefly, but won't run when you give throttle, but catches when a 2nd person squirts more starting fluid into air filter just before engine stalls, then its a fuel restriction issue or no fuel in fuel lines.

power pack to spark plug wires is bad are poor conection.allso check make sure car is getting gas if no sound of fuil pump kicking on when ignition is first turned check all fuses if good replace fuil filter.

Hi, there is a wire screen in the exhaust outlet that blocks up with carbon deposits. It can be removed and cleaned with a wire brush. If blocked it will give you the problem you have and also make the blower quieter than it should be. Regards Phil.

Blower doesnt step up to full power- have changed engine and carb.fuil line is clear with new filter and adjusted.Machine is 6yrs+-am thinking coil needs replacement or gap is wrong.Whats the air gap 010...


The spark plug should be about 0.025" gap. With a fresh plug, the spark should be blue. If fairly weak looking, remove the cover over the flywheel and reset the ignition coil gap. Turn the flywheel magnets to just under the module, insert a thin business card into the gaps, loosen the module screws and let the module contact the magnets through the card. Tighten the screws, then turn the flywheel somewhat to release the card. Turn the flywheel one complete turn to make sure the gaps don't close further. Recheck for hot spark. Check the air filter and muffler for plugging. Hope this helps!

Blower not running at high rpm when full throttle. Cleaned air filter, gas vent, gas filter and spark plug. Blower is 3 years old. Have not bought any new replacement parts.


Try removing the muffler and look inside of the exaust port, you should be able to see the piston in the full opening of the port. If you can, try starting and running at wide open throttle. If it runs fine( a bit loud, so wear hering protection), then you have a plugged or partialy blocked muffler or spark arestor. Sometimes rich mixture can cause excessive carbon build up.
