Question about Microsoft Life Cam Vx-700 Webcam
You should be able to find your installed camera on:
- click START
- click ALL PROGRAMS
- locate your camera and highlight, then another menu will drop down then highlight the icon (clicking the icon will open the program, if you right click the icon submenus will drop, choose SEND TO Desktop so that the icon of your camera will be displayed on your desktop)
- locate the folder of your camera on the drive where you installed it, usually on Drive C under Program Files folder.
Hope I was able to help.

During the installation process, you might have checked (or not checked) a choice having to do with the placement of a Shortcut (icon) on your desktop.
Go to the Start Menu (start button lower left)All Programs>Scroll down till you see your Camer's description>left click once> when you see what you would click on once left to open the camera, right click instead. In a new menu you will see a choice saying Send To with an arrow pointing right. Put your cursor on that line and a new menu will offer you the choise to make a "Shortcut to Desktop"...left click once and all is well again.

Tips for a great answer:
Close down any open applications on your computer.
Press the "Alt + F10" keys on your keyboard. This will open the eRecovery Management system on your computer.
Enter the password for the recovery system. The password will be the one you assigned when you set up the laptop or the default. The default is six zeros, or "000000."
Select "Recovery Options" from the start screen on the management system. Select the "Next" button to continue.
Choose "Reinstall Applications/driver" from the Options provided and press the "Next" button.
Select "Driver" and "Camera" from the Drivers screen. Move to the right side of the window and choose "Install Camera Driver Now."
Let the laptop reboot and install the driver.
If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it and give a testimonial for my response
