Question about Gateway FPD2275W LCD Monitor
My daughter shut down the computer and monitor using the power strip because the system froze and the power button on the computer did not respond even with her holding the button for more than a minute. when she turned the power strip back on and tried to turn the system back on only the computer powered up, the monitor would not. there appears to be no power to the monitor as the led is not illuminated. we have tried a new power source, another power cord but nothing is working. gateway was not able to identify the cause (we tried all their suggestions) and they are suggesting we buy a new one even though this is only 14 months old (bought Mar 2007). Any ideas or suggestions?
Did you try the fuse. chances are the power supply is at fault but if the spike of voltage was sufficient enough it may have taken out the fuse first.
Warning: If you dont feel comfortable around electronics Do Not Attempt to remove the case from your monitor as HIGH VOLTAGE is present even after the unit has been turned off for a long, long time.
The other option is to find a local repair shop in your neighborhood which will give free estimates. Dont take it somewhere where they'll hit you up with a fee to look at it.

Tips for a great answer:
The back lamps that provide the illumination of the
colors, is shutting down there are feedback circuits when there is a problem
with the lamps it will shut down the lamps. Replacing the lamps should alleviate
this problem. For more information on this email me at Sprint6@zoominternet.net
