i used the reader/writer to save the design on the memory card and used the adapter to insert the design into the machine. If the machine is reading the card, no design shows in the display therefore it apparently isnt reading the card. Does the memory card have to be formatted before i save the design?? Your solution didnt help me. I already knew that information.

You had to transfer the design into your memory card from your pc.
now,you can use your pc card adapter to transfer that design into your machine.

1 thing more understand that you transfer nothing into a thing like pc card adapter , you transfer it into memory card and make this memory card read to your machine by pc card adapter

i have checked and your machine supports .jef format so there is no compatibility issue.

see, The actual process is this

1.Included is a 256MB CompactFlash memory card to store your embroidery designs.
2.With the USB CompactFlash Reader/Writer, you will be able to download designs from the internet and save them to the memory card.
3.With the PC Card adapter, you will be able use the designs on the Janome 9500, Embroidery Machines.

this will solve your problem.
Please accept this solution if you are helped.
Thanks

    OK!!!!
if you adopted right procedure we need to know problem area

there is no issue of formatting the memory card.you can use the memory card reader to check whether design is present in the memory card or not . Also tell me thet whether the machine show the signs of card being read/dectected or not.
check some other designs in other formats also you should try some other memory card may be from your phone or camera to see whether your memory card is fine and machine is reading card or not.

once we know the problem area we can proceed next

Will the premier embroidery System work on my janome 9900?

Hello Maria
The Premier Embroidery System software is compatible with all sewing machine brands.
Once an embroidery design whether created or downloaded can be saved in various embroidery formats. You can save the design as .jef and use it in your Janome embroidery sewing machine. If the same design is saved in other formats, it can be used in other sewing machine brands.
The Premier Embroidery Software is amazing.

Please let me know if this is helpful.
Happy stitching

I haven't digitized for a while, but if it's a completed design try saving it to whatever works in your sewing machine, mine uses the small floppy discs like a couple inches or so. I think you might need to have a digitizing program to open the design. Good luck.

How do I install Janome Software on a Husqvarna viking

I assume that you have a computer and have the Janome software on some type of media (flash drive for example.) The Viking uses a different format that the Janome. Janome uses either .sew or .jef You can download the free program "My Editor" Open the Janome design in My Editor then ask the program to save it in the format your Viking uses--.hus or .vip uses. (Choose saveas, click on the drop down box and find the format your machine uses.) You can download My Editor from this site

Formating memory

You need to format the usb stick in the machine itself, don't use a high memory one or one that has a partitioned area. 1 gigabyte or lower. You need to use the set icon on the machine and arrow through the pages to find the Format screen. Select the tab for USB device. Then click yes to the prompts, that installs the correct folder system. Now the software end, open easy design and select machine from the top toolbar, set machine type to 11000. Open a design and use the file drop down menu and select Save As, choose JEF in the file type bar, you will see a button below Save , Delete, called options, click on it, you'll find a list of machines, set it for the 11000. It is that selection that saves the design in the correct format. There are 2 jef formats, the old Jef for the previous machines and the enhanced Jef for the 11000. Now rename the design, open the flash memory menu and in the right hand pane you should see your usb flash drive, if it's the only one you have connected all well and good, if not click on each flash drive to find the correct one. You'll know which one it is,because in the window below you will see an Embf folder, open it, you must always open the Embf folder before writing a design, now some have child files inside, emb, if so open that as well , don't create a new folder it wont be read by the machine. Now write the design to the usb flash drive. Do you have a copy of the PCtools software? if so you need to download the update as it's that software that allows 2 way communication between the machine and the computer. Keep an eye on how many designs you insert into the internal memory, it isnt very big. You shouldnt need to reformat the internal memory,

Your internal memory files could be full and need some designs deleted, the monogram design might not be centred in the hoop so it registers outside the sewing field, The hoop selected might be too small for the design.
