How to fix a scan disk I/O error, it won't let me view my photos

Are you trying to have two different cameras write to the same card? That is a terrible idea. It's not that unusual for a camera to have trouble writing to a card that it didn't format. Use a separate card for each camera, and have the camera format that card before use and after each time you download the photos to your computer.

My camers says file error everytime i turn the camera on i cant uplod, take or look through the picture, please help??

Take your card out of the camera and put it in a computer, If you can see the pictures copy them then format the card.

If you can't see any pictures try to use a free recovery software like Recuva (just google it to find where to download). Once the pictures recovered, format your card.

It the camera still shows file error, the card is certainly damaged.

First of all, do not save any new file to camera's memory card.

Take out memory card, and connect it to computer using a card reader. You should see memory card shown as a drive letter (like H:) in Windows Explorer.
Download asoftech photo recovery software
http://www.asoftech.com/apr/
Install and open the photo recovery software, select the memory card, and click 'Start' button.

I plug the usb cable between my usb port and camera but it says "communication error". What does this mean and how do i fix it

Try NOT connecting your camera to your computer.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use Nikon Transfer or any other photo cataloging program.

File Error

Try using a separate card reader to download your pictures. Then, format the card in the camera to optimize it and completely erase it.

Trying to format cards, but it says "cannot format, replace card"

in Canon Cameras, there's one thing you should keep in consideration:

if you take the photos off the card (or even edited them on the card), the camera won't accept to read them anymore.

you need to format the card on your PC (using the canon software) and then reformat it on the camera.

It could be that you've used the SD card in a PC/Card reader etc? I've had a similar problem in the past, but so long as I reformat the card every time it's been in my PC, it seems to be ok. However, it also seemed to be more the case with cards that had been used very frequently, so if you say you've tried a few cards, I could be wrong - but might suggest giving the re-formatting thing a try anyway to see if that helps.
