Question about Harley Davidson 426290 AM/FM Radio
Only sound I can get from left front and rear speakers is static unless I turn volume up really loud then I can hear garbled sound. Right speakers sound fine. Headset sounds fine as well - both right and left side.
Thought it was a loose connection but I have removed fairing, tank, ignition switch and speaker switch panel and have not found any loose connections. I'm beginning to think problem is within the radio rather than in the connectors. Radio is hard to bench test because it has large specialized modular plugs.
I suspect this radio outputs sound to each separate destination ( front speakers only, front and rear spkr combo, or earphones only) rather than having one audio output which is externally switched. If this is true then problem probably lies within the radio.
How about the antenna this could be the main problem im not a motorcycle expert but radios i do know and if your getting static the antenna which is called the aireal << spell check is not picking up enough signal
also head phones could be also a bad set
