That is the complete model number on the front of the machine. I can't get to the back of the machine as it is too heavy for me to move. The only other wording it has is "dualcare". It is a very basic model and the only cycle choice is a manual dualcare 'hot ' or "cool" setting.

If it tries to start when you push the start button and quits when you release it,the belt is broken, theres a belt sensing switch by the motor so when the belt breaks the unit wont stay running

not that hard you take the back of then take the barrel out punch out the 56833 strem grease bearing then replace with new one and re assemble just note the way the driver belt comes of there tricky to put back on

Hi,

There can be many reasons why your dryer will not start or turn...

The most common causes are the belt breaking or jumping off, or the motor going bad...

I have a AD55 Dryer. When I turn it on it makes a sound but the dryer doesn't turn around.

Does the sound it makes sound like a motor running? When you start a dryer a motor that is coupled to the drum starts turning. It is possible that the belt has come off of the motor pulley. You will need to remove the back cover and look inside to determine if this has happened.

AD55 Dryer makes a dual clunk like it is out of round.

Run the dryer and look through the front door and watch for if the drum is running out of round at the back. The AD55 only has one bearing and this is at the rear of the drum, the front of the drum is supported by 6 plastic tabs that it glides over. These tabs are reversible if they become worn and a drum bearing assembly kit is available from Fisher & Paykel. For a detailed drawing of the dryer contact your Fisher & Paykel service center and they will email you a copy.

dryer's have a long belt that runs around the drum. a common culprit is an idler pulley on the belt tensioner. you can take off the front of the dryer and oil it for a temp fix. it will probably need to be replaced
