Try cleaning the air filter and see if that solves the problem.

On some models its on the side and on other models its on the rear. You should notice a small access panel with vents which is secured by a screw. The filter will be behind that cover.

you may have a defective thermal sensor.

They are usually located on or near the lamp compartment. some are a small cylinder and other types are a triangle.

it should be available at www.partstore.com you enter your model number and it will list all the parts that are available for your model.

LG 55" TV model # 55LK520UA chassis # AUSYLJR. Screen comes on several seconds (shows OSD info) then the set shuts down and then the red power LED is blinking. I'm an EET, but not primarily a TV guy.

Ahoy there...Your case would appear to be the classic dying cold cathode tube(s) . After a long service the tubes will grow a carbon track down the tube and it won't take much length to cause an increase in current from high voltage unit . This current is detected and unit shuts down . They can be sourced and replaced , I have seen them from American sources for approx. $30 for 10 40 inch .
HOWEVER I have also watched an LED conversion on youtube which may be a smarter choice as the rest of the tubes will meet that fate sometime . It is a picky , tedious dangerous(to your screen not you so much) process .
If you are mechanically adept and don't use force on the flat wires(there should be ZIF sockets or a stiffened handle , be careful)
you stand as good chance . You need a good sized work space though .
Good luck
Hugh

Replaced lamp on mitsubishi wd62527 worked for 10 minutes then shut down. Now red lamp light is on

If the red indicator light on the front of your HDTV is glowing a solid red, you should first unplug the AC cord from the wall power outlet and wait for 60 seconds before reapplying power to the HDTV.

After you turn the TV on, if it doesn't power up, try holding the power button down for at least 8 seconds. That's supposed to force a system reset. If your model has a system reset button, use that instead. Press the reset button for about 20 seconds...release it and press it again for 20 seconds, release it again and the led will blink just for a minute or two. You should now be able to turn the TV on.
If after several attempts, the HDTV has not fully powered on and the LED on the front of the HDTV is still glowing solid red, you may want to reseat the lamp.

If reseating the lamp has not resolved the issue then your next step is to order a replacement lamp.

Hitachi 50DX10B Power issue

Rollo, broken solder connections either in low voltage or sweep section of the board, probably in the horizontal out put area but could be anywhere. If you want to attempt the fix the board has to come out and you`ll need a bright light as well as a good magnifying glass to find the broken joints and then re-solder them, Be certain your tv`s AC cord is removed from the wall outlet before doing any soldering, good luck, BMW Rider

Replaced lamp and now can't get a picture

Hi Sally Jo, Unit powers on and works properly for a while then shuts off with a red lamp LED (lamp error). Suspect bad lamp part # 915P020010 2. Lamp enable line at J14 pin 6 does not switch to 5 volts after turn on, 12 and 5 volt supplies are good. Suspect the Light Engine part # 939P977010 3. At power on the lamp turns on and off three times and then the unit shuts down with a red lamp LED (lamp error). Replace the Light Engine part # 939P977010 4. Check for 12-volts DC at J-9 connector pin 4 on the Engine Driver PCB, if missing check for an open F9A09 on the Power PCB, if it is open replace F9A09 part # 283P127060 and the Light Engine part # 939P977010 5. Lamp enable line at connector J14 pin 6 on the Engine Driver PCB switches to 5 volts after turn on but does not go back to 0-volts (low) after 5 seconds, 12 and 5 volt supplies are good. Suspect the Light Engine part # 939P977010 6. Check for 5-volts DC at J-9 connector pin 1 and 2 on the Engine Driver PCB if missing replace the Power PCB part # 934C148001. Hope this helps!
