Open up your machine (UNPLUG first), look around the motor, if you see two or four brass colored pins holding the motor in place, you will need to remove these. These are shipping pins and are supposed to be put inside of funny little cups near them.

I made the mistake of putting these back on and one of our residents turned her machine on and it banged so hard. She never reported it. About two weeks later, she called, the washing machine was literally retired.

Anyways, If this isn't the problem, most likely the tub balance springs are worn out. Sometimes the motor balancer is worn. Any of those three things might be your culpert.

Why is Maytag Centennial 3.2 cu. ft. SuperSize Capacity Plus Top Load Washer shaking during spin cycle

check to make sure it is sitting level on the floor and one leg adjuster hasnt backed in making it shake. But even when you stick cloths in evenly they can bunch up during cycles.

The washer shakes violently then the off balance sensor trips when a load is in the washer.

I had this washer at one point in time. was not very happy with it, even though i sold it to alot of my customers. usually if the machine is shaking violently it means one of a couple things. first make sure your washer is properly leveled. if it is make sure you washing the same types of clothes in the load, no mixed loads of towels with shirts. if your problem is not that then you possibly have a bad clutch. which will cause the tumbling wheels to spin during your spin cycle as well, its a costly fix so i would consider a new front loading maytag/whirpool if that is your problem. remember this machine was designed by maytag, since then they were purchased by whirlpool and everything is on a whirlpool platform now. if you do purchase a new washer and have the matching dryer to your neptune TL, it would recommended to replace the dryer as well, considering the capacity of these machines are smaller then most of the new high efficiency machines on the market today.

During the lest spin cycle ,the drum spins like its out of balance, with bad knock , viberation. even after making sure the load is balanced in the drum. even without a load or water, (empty) it still...

The machine sounds as if it might be unsteady. If it only happens on the spin it is probably slight. Try levelling it at the feet, using a spirit level helps enormously to get it level.

Machine shakes and bangs in spin even when tud empty

This sounds like your feet are not leveled. the quick fix is to put your hands on the top of the machine and shake it softly trying to find the short foot. It should feel just like a table with a short leg. Once you find which two feet do not touch the ground at the same time( it should be one in front one in back on diagonal corners) lean it back and you will find that the front foot is on a screw and you just screw it out until your washer is level. It is a really simple job.

Shaking washing machine

If the shaking is during the spin cycle and you are using the High setting change it to Medium. This may fix the problem and the clothes will probably come out even dryer since the drum is not banging around.

Kenmore washing machine shakes violently

There is the tub that spins on the bearing the " the active tub"(the one the clothes go in obviously) and around that tub is the "stationary tub", between the two are what they call "snubs" these are either rubber wheels, bushings or on cheaper models just a rubber boot that works as a shock absorber if you will, and keeps the movement of the the "active tub" with in its axis. If a wheel is broken, or a bushing/boot is torn or broken then there lies your problem.

I hope this helps.
