When you use the Head unit bass volume control.
When you turn up the bass control it gives more signal to the amp and therefore changes how the main headunit volume>Bass control volume>amplifier gain setting all work together.
Heres a good practice so your subwoofers remain consistent with the rest of your system on average with most of the music you play.
Set the bass control volume in the HU to 3 , then set the gains on the amp. This way you have close to linear volume matching with your HU main volume and the bass control volume.
keep your bass volume control in the + side but keep it as close to 0. +3 always worked.

There is an art to setting THe HU bass control and the amps gain for perfect volume matching with the rest of your speakers.
Typically setting all the speakers to the front speakers.

Volume matching means when you turn up the main volume all your speakers (fronts, backs+subs) will sound equal in every way, even at extreme volume.Perfect for SQ bass.
---------------- You can certainly blow your subs if the voltage/watts you`re sending to them is beyond the capacity of the speaker. You should make sure that if you put amps in your home theater / car that you are still within the limits of your speakers.Otherwise you will blow them. Add an amplifier for the new speakers. And this will clear the problems. As the bass kicks off due to extra voltage getting and this overloads so bass kicks off. ---------

Thanks. Keep updated for any more query. You can rate this solution and show your appreciation

This really sounds like some component in the amplifier circuit is breaking down under a load, which would require servicing, but I ran across this blog on the web, and they seem to think it's related to the gain, so it might be worth reading:

Good luck, and hope this helps,.

How set bass on kd g340

Do you have User manual? If not, it can be downloaded from jvc website: http://books.jvc.com/booklist.asp?Model=kd-g340. Refer to page 20. Press EQ, then use up/dn to select mode, then use right/left to select tone, then use vol to adjust.

It might be a good idea to check all of the fuses in the car. The radio requires two power sources in order to work properly.

I have jvc car audio model # kd-g335 how to connect my sub woofer?

You can not connect the subwoofer directly to your head unit. You need an amplifier installed to play the sub woofer. Asuming that there is an amplifier installed then: If your head unit has an RCA output on the rear, connect that to the LINE IN of your amplifier. Also there should be a Blue&White cable at the rear of the head unit.(amplifier remote) That should be connected the the remote terminal on the amplifier. (this will turn the amp on and off when the head unit turns on or off) Hope this helps. dreamsystems

Need to wire JVC model KD-G340 into a 97 Kia Sephia

Do not cut the wires from the car. Instead, call Crutchfield at 888-955-6000 and order the adapter part number 120701003. When you call them, ask for color coding. For JVC, refer to the attached picture. Match the adapter color code with that of JVC. If the adapter color code is the same, then connect ground (black), battery (yellow), and wire from ignition switch (red) securely. Turn on the car and see the radio works. If it works, connect one by one speakers and confirm. Remember, perfect connection gives reliable installation.
