2 Answers

Sharp lc 32sh20u when power on displays "please wait" and the screen within a split second or 2 disappears to a black screen. THe power light is still green or on. Audio still works. trying touchingthe screen but no impressions after the initial "please wait". replaced inverter and tcon boards and same issue. Hopefully the supplier parts are good. Could it need a new main board, power supply board or screen or CCCL lamps replaced?

WELL FOLKS I just FINALLY found what I have been searching for, I own a Sharp LC 32SH12U LCD TV that has begun to show problems with it's picture, Now it's sound is great no change..But it has gotten to the point that when i first turn it on all I get are three or four bright WHITE lines on the right side of the screen. They are a bout one third from the very corner of the screen. After it warms up for a while, MOST of the time it will just pop up and go to working just fine, that is what was giving it away to me that it HAD to be a something generally easy to fix, And in all of my searching I FINALLY found what I was looking for..Rite here on it was right thre in PLAIN ENGLISH..(( The T-CON BOARD )) Timing Control or LCD Controller..Board. on teh LCD panel Assembly, It transfers the image signal of the TTL and LVDS signal to specific TFT but What you all really NEED TO KNOW is JUST what is going on with your TV set when the T-CON Board is going bad, And I am about to tell you....So her ya go.. If you TV has any of these symptoms Well then I can pretty much say that your T-CON Board is bad or going bad...OK..If you have A Scrambled Picture,LINES,multiple Pictures Color smears, blotches, Rolling Pictures after warm up, Blown Surface mounted Fuse No Picture, Very Dark Screen almost like there is no backlight....Folks if your SHARP LCD TV is doing ANY of thsi then you just may need to replace your T-CON BOARD!!!! Hey it beats buying a new TV RIGHT!!!! GOOD LUCK FOLKS!!!!! I have already bought my replacement T-CON Board, as soon as I get it and install it I will let everyone know how it went!! PLEASE CROSS YOUR FINGER"S AND PRAY THAT THIS WORKS FOR US!!!! Thanks Wade in Eastman Georgia...

It may have gone into shutdown mode after it trys to turn on all the power supply section, it can be the power supply itself has the problem or may be the backlight inverter board has shorts circuits.

Sharp LC-70LE745U will not power on. Blink code is 2 long, 2 short. Tried the force power key sequence and the factory reset, but no joy!

If your LCD TV or monitor has stopped working, or is displaying one of the following symptoms, then it's a candidate for some new capacitors
- Flickering screen
- Screen image disappears after several seconds
- Dim screen
- Slow start
- Power LED on, but no picture
- Unusual colors and/or lines
The primary cause of LCD TV and monitor failure is caused by faulty capacitors. You can examine the capacitors in your LCD TV or monitor and actually see if they are bad.
If they appear bulged on top, then they need to be replaced.
New capacitors will solve a host of problems in LCD monitors and TV's and will extend the life of your monitor or TV by several years.
Check the cables, connectors and connections.
Take it to a repair shop.

There are two places to look for the problems, the backlight inverter board and the power supply. Look at the power supply first since it is easier to get to, look for burnt parts, bad capacitors, etc.
Please post back what you find.

Sharp aquos model LC-32D40U screen goes black

The Sharp TV model LC32D40U / 41U "Black Screen problem" is a very well known issue. The inverter is losing ground contact which will prevent the back-light from staying on. The solution is to re-tighten six screws on the inverter board. You also would want to clean the copper contacts on then bottom of the inverter where the screws go through. Access to the inverter board will require some disassembly. Plan on taking at least three hours to repair. See the photo for the location of the screws. Use some "blue" locktight" on these six screws. There is actually a Sharp Technical Service Bulletin that describes these screws. Sharp wants you to replace these screws with a newer version. They cost at least $2.50 each! I think my method will work just as good using the "Locktight"_548.jpg_547.jpg

Set up only visible for 2 seconds, then black - Aquous lc-37d43u

Unfortunately I can promise you that you CANNOT repair this. Your power and opc lights coming on, but the tv is not coming on. That is a issue within the tv. Give sharp a call and they will have somebody come fix your tv free of charge, if they cant fix it, they will replace it for free. That is the only thing you can do. Sorry bro

Blue screen, no video, but has sound

Did you hit the "input" or "video source" button by mistake on the remote or TV? That would change the input from the one the cable/video source uses. You're getting sound, so it's working......sounds as if the input was maybe changed. I'd hit the input/video source button a few times to go through all the available inputs and see if you get video back.
