Ice Maker doesn't work, condenser fan was not running

It could be the the control board or a broken wire in the door.

But if you hear the timer motor running then you are getting power to the ice maker.

Have you check the temperature in the freezer?

The freezer must be 5 degrees or below for the ice maker to work.

Here is a link on how to test the ice maker.

My tabletop icemaker makes ice but it melts before the next cycle drops. Its in the 70s.y table

Hello;

My name is Peter. I am a retired field service refrigeration technician.

Well, it sounds like your refrigerant and cold plate are working since you are getting ice.

The problem therefore lies with either your cooling fan or your thermostat.

Open the door. Push the door switch is your fan running? The fan is controlled by your thermostat.

Start by replacing the thermostat. It is the least expensive.

The compressor and fan are running, however, there is no water coming out. RH is 70, temp is 66. This is after replacing a blower that had already seized up 2 years ago.

The dehumidifier should be removing water at 66F 70%rh.

First make sure that the compressor and fan are running. If they are, then turn the dehumidifier off and unplug the cord from the wall outlet. Next remove the front cover from the dehumidifier. Examine the evaporator coil (about 1/2 way up) beneath the plastic heat exchanger and above the stainless steel drain pan.

If the evaporator coil is cold and completely covered with frost & ice, the defrost thermostat may be defective. Replace the front cover. turn the humidity dial to "off". Plug the dehumidifier in to the wall outlet and set the fan switch to on - the fan will run (no compressor). Run this way for one hour to defrost the evaporator. Now adjust the humidity dial to your desired humidity and keep an eye on the dehumidifier. If it freezes up again and does not automatically defrost, the defrost thermostat should be replaced. Call the manufacturer at 1-800-533-7533 for parts and instructions.

If the evaporator coil is (mostly) warm and free of frost and ice, it is likely that some of the dehumidifier refrigerant has leaked out. this type of service should be done by a (refrigerant) certified technician. Call the manufacturer at 1-800-533-7533 for help with this service.

I want to replace faulty freezer thermostat in whirlpool side by side fridge mod ed22dqxew01 --am having trouble removing cover for freezer-refridgerator control dials. I removed two screws in rear of

First question why are you replacing the freezer thermostat? Do you have an ice build up on the rear wall of the freezer? This build up if you do have it is not due to the thermostat control for the freezer. It is termed as a defrost issue due to a fault condition being present in the defrost thermostat, the defrost heater, or the defrost timer or adaptive control depending on which type of refrigerator you have. I will await your reply as to why you are replacing the control thermostat and if you do have any ice up condition before posting further how to solve this situation. I await your reply
Thank you

Freezing and ice build up stopping fan.

hi,
you could buy a spare cover and experiment with it (the one you constantly have to take off) cut it with a hacksaw blade or bend it slightly with a heat gun so the air from the fan moves in a different direction slightly. I sure wouldnt want to be working in GE's design department and have to be responsible for a huge design flaw like this. Usually GE's are trouble free.

Combination cooler/freezer will not get blow 30

a coil covered in ice is one of two things
your defrost is not working or your circ fan is not working
make sure the fan inside is free and spinning
the make sure your defrost timer is operational
the bev airs are usually right in front behind the toe kick
short of that ohm out your heater to ensure its working

Panel is hot and freezer does not work!

Check the condenser fan underneath the unit accessable form the back behind the cardboard cover. It should be running when the compressor runs. OR Check the evaporator behind the rear cover inside the freezer. Check for ice build up. . Light frost everywhere(NORMAL) or a partial pattern of ice(LOW ON FREON) or nothing(LOW FREON OR COMPRESSOR PROBLEM).
If the evaporator coils behind the back panel of the freezer are icing up because of auto defrost failure that will stop the circulation of cold air and eventually affect the freezer too.

check defrost timer, defrost heater, defrost thermostat. In most newer models the timer has been replaced by an electronic control board. If the heater and thermostat are ok it’ll be the control

I have an Amana Side by Side. The freezer section

If the evaporator coils behind the back panel of the freezer are icing up because of auto defrost failure that will stop the circulation of cold air
check defrost heater, defrost thermostat. If the heater and thermostat are ok it’ll be the adaptive defrost control.Part 13 on this diagram of your fridge controls. http://www.searspartsdirect.com/partsdirect/getSubComp.pd?modelNumber=ASD2625KES&productCategoryId=0165000&brandId=1268&modelName=AMANA-REFRIGERATOR&diagramPageId=00005&componentDescription=CONTROLS&documentId=M0612301&backToLink=Return%20to%20Sub%20Components%20list

Is the evaporator fan in the freezer running.

Below the evaporator fan is the evaporator coils. Remove the back cover in the freezer to observe the frost pattern. Light frost everywhere(NORMAL) or a partial pattern of ice(LOW ON FREON) or nothing(LOW FREON OR COMPRESSOR PROBLEM).

WHIRLPOOL CB18M FRIDGE FREEZER

3 things to check. If you didn't adjust the damer from the freezer to the refrigerator, like closed it off. Is the freezer fan running? The fan blows air from the freezer to the refrigerator section. Some fans shut off when the door is open so you may have to push in the door switch to check this out.
Look for ice on the back wall, of the freezer section, If present then the defrost cycle is not working. The evap. coil is icing up and there is no air blowing into the refrigerator. Set the thermostat back to the normal setting it just causes a longer run time on the freezer section.
