Re: Contacting Garmin- A Bad Deal
I can't seem to find a problem posted by you so I can't help you.
If we are posting "contact Garmin" for other problems, it's because we are unable to help the poster. Some problems are not solvable on a user-level and must be fixed by the manufacturer. No, I don't work for Garmin, I'm just spending my own time trying to help others with their GPS problems.
a 6ya Technician can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repair professionals here in the US. click here to Talk to a Technician (only for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need. Goodluck!

I had a problem when I went to the Garmin site to update my 2820. After the update, the touch screen function didn't work--it would freeze and I'd have to reboot it. In contacting Garmin, even though this was a high-end GPS and was not inexpensive when it came out, they said they would no longer support it and they wouldn't offer any suggestions as to how or who to go to in order to return its functionality. It looks like what happened when they stopped their customer support that they combined the software from the 2820 with their Nuvi software and while that might work for the map, it deactivated the touch-screen and bluetooth function. My unit still does not work.
Maybe this will help you some. I have found you the complete manual
which covers most of the models of the Garmin Nuvi. It is the full
manual from start to finish with complete operating procedures as well
as schematics, operation instructions complete with pictures, and
trouble shooting section and even other contact numbers to deal direct
with Garmin, if your model is not covered in this manual.
Also if you can, please rate my solution if you can and some kind words
would be appreciated. I also took the liberty to put my link at the
bottom of this page that directs you to my personal page for all my
areas of expertize, such as Automotive, Appliance, Electronics. Feel
free to check it out anytime and save my link for future problem. Thanks
So, Much Mike.
Try Raising the antenna and then press the reset button when the unit is on,this should restore the garmin, then: I
would try updating the unit by connecting to to a usb port on your
computer and then downloading Garmin Communicator. If that does not help
then try contacting Garmin. I will attach a link to Garmin customer
support. thanks for using FixYa
Hi, this is usually caused by a bad battery, or battery issue, not charged properly etc, this needs to be replaced. Now, if not that then the software has glitched and needs to be replaced/upgraded.
To replace the software you need to install the Garmin software and connect up your GPS, via USB, and logon to the Garmin website and try to update your existing software, this will usually sort out any problems,
Below is the link for your manual and support. It shows you what to do and how to do it in the easy to follow manual.
Now if it still will not work after battery replacement and or software upgrade, then you will need to send it back to Garmin, they will repair/replace your unit, for a very reasonable cost.
try contacting garmin they are at garmin.com they should have a dealer near you or take it back to where you bought it they should exchange it no problem as long as you have the reciept hope this helps
Have you considered contacting Alvarion directly?
If this is a revenue producing venture I would be contacting them. It could be the box itself, bad antenna connections, or simply a firmware issue. Seems like you have tried all the normal fixes.
Let us know how it goes. Anyone else with a suggestion, jump in.
