If the red light is not coming on when you plug in your PS3 first thing you need to do is make sure that you have the switch in the back set to the on position. If you have confirmed the switch is in the on position then you have a problem with the power supply or the power cable itself. The power cable is a standard computer power cord so you might try plugging in the on from your computer to see if you get the red light.

If you do not then the problem is with the power supply. If you are still under warranty I would call Sony to have the system sent into them for repair.

If you are out of warranty I would contact your local repair shop to replace the power supply for you.

If you would like to fix it your self let me know any I will do a write up for you so you can get the right parts. There is 3 different power supplies that you could have so I will show you how to check whick on your need to get for a replacement.\

This could indicate a bad battery. Try removing the battery and powering on the laptop. If the power LED remains white then you have a problem with the charging circuit. That means your battery could be defective or the battery charging circuit on your motherboard is faulty.

I have a partial red ring of death, but it's not all 4 lights. It's only 1-3 and it flashes when I turn the system on . Any advice?

Red ring of death is three lights, four is when you don't have the A\V cords plugged in, I believe, you can look on the Xbox website. Just try makiong sure all your cords are plugged correctly, sometimes it comes up three lights when the power cord is incorrectly plugged.

XBOX360 RED LIGHTS FLASH ON CONSOLE AND I GET NO PICTURE?

this problem occurs:

  • When there is too much current.
  • When the voltage is too high.
  • When the temperature of the power supply is too high

  • if you have the console plugged into an extension lead try plugging directly into the wall, but 1st, turn off your console and leave power plugged in to allow fans to continue cooling the system.. after fans switch off, carefully plug out power cord and allow cord and console to cool in a well ventilated area for 24 hours. if its still red you may need to replace your power cord as it may have overheated
