SOURCE: HUSQVARNA SERGER HUSKYLOCK 963

Hi,
Know these questions are old, but just wanted to tell you that you can get an 83 page huskylock 936 handbook online. Just search Google, and you'll find it. I see some eBay sellers sell these, but they are just copies they have made of the handbook that is available for download free online! I wonder what Husqvarna would think of people copying their documents and selling them... There's also a 28 page ebook on Specialty Techniques for Huskylocks which sounds useful. I just found these myself. They also sell a service manual, haven't found that online yet though.

SOURCE: I need to know how to thread my Viking Husqvarna

You have a great machine. These are hard to thread but once you have mastered it, you'll have many years of great use. The owner's manual has instructions, as well as the inside door of the machine (the door that folds down on the front bottom part of the machine. However, you might want to follow-up with your local authorized Husqvarna Viking dealer. Most are eager to help you even if you didn't purchase the machine from them. Some even have classes on using the serger. You might try several stores in the area. Suggest that it be serviced and cleaned by an authorized Husqvarna Viking Dealer. You can find the nearest dealer by click on the "Dealer" link at http://www.husqvarnaviking.com

Good luck.

One fundamental tip is to follow the color coding, start with green, then blue/navy, then red, and finally yellow. The sequence is work inside to outside with threading (green - blue - red - yellow). Do not try different order--especially with green and blue -- since the threads build on each other. I have switched yellow and red with no impact but green then blue is always the proper order.

Good luck.

I could not find a manual for your machine, but did find this video - it starts a little silly, but the instructions are presented very well.

Threading Serger this may be helpful even if it is not the same model. The sequence of threading loopers is VERY important. If you thread them out of order, be prepared to be frustrated beyond belief!!! Something else (I don't think she mentioned) is to ALWAYS RAISE the presser foot when threading your machine. This is true for sergers AND sewing machines!

How do you work a huskylock 430 serger

Here's an owner's manual:
User Guide

Usually, if the machine breaks thread, it is because it is threaded incorrectly, the tension is too tight, or there could be a bad needle. Make sure you are using the correct needle and inserting it properly.

Check to make sure the thread coming from the spool is not wrapped around something that it shouldn't, ie the spool pin or the thread tree.

Unthread everything, RAISE the presser foot, then rethread from the very beginning making sure the threads seat properly in the tension disks.

Thread each thread in order as instructed (usually the upper looper first and the lower looper second with the tail draped over the top of the first looper). Pull at least 6 inches of thread tail of all three threads and lay them all in a straight line under the presser foot extending toward the back of the machine.

BE SURE to check your threading sequence against the instruction manual diagram since missing one thread guide will cause problems.

Set all the tension dials to the midway point to test your stitching. HINT: it helps to thread with 3 different colors so you can determine which threads are presenting a problem.

When a thread breaks, it is best to rethread everything from the beginning. Sergers are very finicky machines and even if you try to rethread only the broken thread, they will generally refuse to work.

How do I thread the Husvarna 910 serger?

Hard to explain here. You will probably need pictures to show you exactly. If you don't have the user manual/guide, it should be available on the husqvarna viking website under 'Machine Updates' (bottom right hand corner of home page). From Machine Updates page, select All machines and scroll down until you find your machine listed. Also most viking dealers are familiar with this machine and should be able to help you thread it if you stop by their store with the machine. You can find a dealer near you by using 'Locate a Dealer' link at the husqvarna viking website

How to thread huckylock 901 serger

The picture diagram works the best for this, it tells you how to tread for every different stitch that you want to perform. You have to thread it in different ways for every stitch so it is difficult to tell you in writing. If you visit your local Viking dealer they would be able to make you a copy and I'm sure show you how right there.
