Question about Tomtom GO 910 GPS Receiver

Green light comes on but the screen and sound do not come on.

Had it in my truck it worked fine went to use it and the green light turned on and nothing else happened. Reset the GPS and tried again and nothing. let charge all night and still nothing. Took the unit apart no broken wires, cards and everything looks ok. any ideas

dude check it the car charger really isnt a chargers. what! i kno i kno. the '' proper" way of chargin ur battery is thru the computer or u can purchase a a/c to usb adapter and charge it on the wall but the car charger is a trickle charge as long as the green light is coming on that means that there is power going to it and support is going to just tell ur charge the batter the right way over and over again try charging on the computer for about four hrs then see whats up if its still not working then call tech support and make sure u tell them that u tried charging it on the computer for four hrs

Green light comes on when plugged but will not turn on. Screen will not light up.


Thanks. Followed the advice of namzyanzy. Went down to garage. reconnected to power source and ` Hey Presto` the Tom Tom is now working properly. Many thanks for your help.

I got the TomTom for my husband and it warked fine for 2 days and now it will not turn on at all.
It was feo our 40thAnniversay. Now it will not work. Please help me. They would not take it back at Wal-mart because of the time limit.

No Green Light or Lite Screen


I fixed the problem DAH the sleep switch was on and in order to turn it back on, I had to slide the little switch that is located on top of the unit.

TOMTOM GO 710


Could be a loose contact at the connection between the wire and at the gps unit.

Think the green light must be on at the charger port and also on the gps unit.

This green light can be found near the power button on the gps unit.
