Question about Microsoft Windows Media Player

1 Answer

I have Windows media player 12 on a Dell PC running windows 7 home premium. If any of you think you can really answer this I'd like to know. According to the "help" section this player is supposed automatically transfer my music and video files from my computer the first time I open it. This is a new install of widows 7 home premium. The transfer is not happening.

I'm trying to transfer the files from my computer's library-I have folders of music and videos and those folders show up when I right click libraries in the media player and then click on files and then the manage libraries tab. The problem is getting the player to actually transfer the files. I highlighted a particular music file and opened and it transferred, but so far I've only been able to get one music file transferred.

Oh-I'm storing the files the libraries on my hardrive-one for music and one for videos.

Where are you trying to transfer the music and video files from? You need to at least point media player to the location of the video and music files and it will "transfer" them into it.
Let me know, where are you storing the music and video files?

Thanks Tim

Ok well the easiest way is just to drag the folders into media player... Just open your hard drive up, get to the point where you can see both folders and drag them into media player... It will import them into the media player library.

    Thanks

Daisy Mae,
The Pocket DJ is not compatible with Windows 7 or Windows 10. If you plugged it into your computer and it did not recognize the device or show up in "My Computer' then it will not work. You would need a windows 7 and Windows 10 drivers.None are available..

Can Pinnacle Studio 12 ultimate run on windows 7?

According to Microsoft, the manufacturer recommends that you upgrade your product to work with 7. Imagine that, they think you should pay the upgrade fee. Microsoft has not tested your program as yet, so this info is really not verified. I suggest that you go to pinnacle and download the latest drivers and patches (click here) and give the installation a try.

According to Pinnacle, 12 works with Vista 32 and 64 bit. It is likely 12 will run on Windows 7. The only way you will truly know is if you try it or get in touch with an actual user that tried it. Here is a link to Microsoft that will guide you on how to tweak older programs to work in 7 if you encounter trouble.

Vista RAM usage ?

The minimum recommended ram for Vista is 1 GB, generally accepted practical minimum is 2 GB. A 1 GB system will be kinda laggy. Maximum RAM for 32 bit Vista is 4 GB.

Vista Home Premium is roughly equivalent to Windows XP Media Center Edition (Has Media Center, cann't be put on a DOMAIN type network)

Vista Business is roughly equivalent to Windows XP Professional (Can Join a Domain, Doesn't have Media Center)

Vista Ultimate has all available freatures of Vista, you can do any windows function with Ultimate
