Question about HP OfficeJet 6110xi All-In-One Thermal Printer
Hi,
A 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
The service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
Good luck!

Is the ticking sound coming from the right side near the bottom? Or the left side near the top. If it is the right bottom then you're looking at a service station. If it is the left top then a scanner unit. Scanner unit is not available from Hp. You can try dismantling and cleaning all mirrors and lenses (usually doesn't work). If it is the service station, you are probably going need parts that are not availble.

I photocopied a document and it seemed to cure the ticking sound.

SOURCE: Scanner FailureTurn power off then on again Message Window pops up continuously
Turning on and off or doing the re-set thing didn't work for me.
The solution that worked for me: Removing the black bulb cover and cleaning the mirrors.
Open the hinged lid, lift up and out and set aside. This will expose two small screws in back that holds the glass cover on. Remove the two screws. I used a small allen wrench. Carefully lift the gray glass cover up in back and pry loose in front, one corner at the time. Flip the cover over to the right and carefully set aside, keeping it at the same height as the top of the printer. Do not let the ribbon come out. Also, the little screws will fall out so don't lose them. Once you have exposed the inside, the key to everything is to carefully remove the black bulb/mirror cover on top and LEAVE OFF. There are two small slots on top to allow you to do this, or simply pry off from the side. Once removed, clean the mirrors with a q-tip and go ahead and clean the underside of the glass top while you have it off. Flip the glass top back over making sure the ribbon stays in (you may need to feed it back in a little). Snap the glass top back on, front to back, and replace screws. You should be good to go! I sure hope this helps whomever, because this is a great little printer/copier that I almost tossed.

It is a the flow of the ink into the printer which fails, and these error cannot be reset most of the times when you turn of the unit and oon back again if it works then it is good again, if not it is better to replace the All-In-One, If the printer is in warranty or extended warranty you will get a free replacement from HP, if not you can get a upgrade option wher you may get some discount from HP Tech support Call 1800 474 6836
