You might have to enter your information manually. That's what I had to do. Make sure you know your SSID (the name of your wifi device -- mine is Overdrive-75E) which you can find on the device itself or in the box it came in. And you'll need your WEP key, which is the password to connect to a secure link. You can also find it in the same location as your SSID. It's generally 8-12 characters long.

It says that confirm SSID settings or move whithin rangs of a compatible access point.

Move closer to your access point and verify that there are not any firewalls on your network. If this doesn't work, try starting the connection process again from scratch. If doing these things don't help, contact customer support.

How do i set up my daughters connection for er dsi? error codes 051099-1 comes up and the dsi says: no access point in range. check your ssid settings or move closer to an access point. what do i need to...

This probably means your not connected to any wifi.

You can check for a wifi access point by following these steps

  1. Go to your dsi settings (the wrench icon)
  2. Scroll over to the third page, and select "Internet."
  3. now choose "connection settings"
  4. click on one of the them that says "none"
  5. Click on "Search for an Access Point."
  6. a list of wifi access points should pop up
  • The wifi connection you are connecting to must have No Security or WEP
  • If the wifi connection is WPA you will not be able to go online for games
7. Choose one of those access points to connect to and if it is secured by WEP you must put in the password for that access point.

Good luck :)

My nintendo dsi pink console will not connect to the internet. It says no compatible access point in range. My error code says 051311.

You need to have an accessible Wifi router in order to connect to the Internet. The message means that there isn't one.

I have a dsi xl. i have access it in the internet already. my problem is if keep saying point in more thing i have the nintendo points cards but i dont know where to enter it?

To use the nintendo points, tap the dsi shop icon. It will take you to where you can buy games. Different games cost different amounts of points, some are free, some cost 500+ points. Select the option the buy the game(s) you want, it will prompt you for the Nintendo points card number at checkout, and will deduct those points, and download the game. You have to enter the card number each time you buy a downloadable game, it does not store the points value (at least it didn't as of December 2010).
You can go into settings, and set the dsi to connect if access point in range, and it will just connect when you choose internet. If you mean the access point says it's in range, but won't connect to the internet, you probably need to check to make sure you entered the SSID (name) correctly, the password correctly, and which type of encryption correctly (WEP, WPA PSK, etc). If you save the correct settings, and are in range, it will connect.

Each time i go in to my dsi shop it says:no compatible access point in range vist

This error refers to your wireless set-up. If you go to your routers options you can disable it's firewall and turn it into an access point. It will still have it's security features, but instead the NAT will not block your traffic.

Sometimes i try to ping the wireless access point and i get the message 'Request time out',i receive this message even if im directly connected to the access point.what should i do

When you connect the computer directly to the access point, you might not be getting IP address on your computer.
You will need to assign a static IP address on your computer in the range of default IP address of the Access point.

I have connected the access point to my network switch when i run the wizard it says it cannot find any Wireless G access point ? Why is this ?

You said that the access point is connected to the switch. Are you using any router?
If you have a router connected to the switch then it's ok. otherwise you need to connect the Access point and computer to the router.
check the IP address of the router and the access point. Both should be in the same IP address range

-- what is the exact model number of your access point and router?
-- what is the ip address of your access point and router?
-- what is the operating system of your computer?
-- Is your computer directly connected to the router?
-- Do you have a wireless computer? what is the model number of the wireless adapter

if you want to configure your access point with your router you may try the ff:
Step 1: Connect the Ethernet port of the access point to one of the Ethernet ports of the router
Step 2: Make sure the power adapter is plugged to an available power outlet
Step 3: Check if the corresponding LEDs on the access point are lit
Step 4: After connecting the devices together, configure the access point’s wireless settings
Step 5: Open the access point’s web-based setup page
Step 6: When the access point’s web-based setup page opens, change the SSID, Channel, and Wireless Security.
