This is how you can recover your device:

  1. Plug/connect your device to a computer (PC or Mac)
  2. Turn it OFF
  3. Press and hold the POWER and HOME buttons together for EXACTLY 10seconds
  4. Release the POWER button but keep holding the HOME button until the computer beeps indicating that a USB device is recognized.
  5. Open iTunes and restore your device.

Warning: Restoring will delete all data on your device but this is the only way for you to recover it.

If you don't get it at first, try holding the buttons for lesser time or see the other procedures and some screenshots on my tip (link below):

My sons I pod shows disabled, try again in 10000000 minutes

Hi Jack Sandall
If you have forgotten the code or put the wrong code in your ipod, you can unlock the Ipod by doing the following:
Connect your IPod to the primary computer you use it with (the first one Ipod synced with), and open iTunes.
When you disconnect iPod from the computer, it will no longer be locked.
If you can't unlock Ipod using either (the code or connecting it to the computer you use to manage its songs). . . you can restore your ipod to factory settings using ipod Updater.
Please note that this will erase all data on your ipod.
Afterwards, you can add your music and data back to your ipod.
If you want to change the primary computer that your Ipod is associated with, do this:
1. Restore your iPod. WARNING: The restore process cannot be undone.
All of your songs and files will be deleted.
Always make a backup of your important data.
2. Connect your ipod to the computer that you want to be the primary computer.
3. Open iTunes and synchronize.
If you can't unlock your ipod and you don't have access to the primary computer, your only option is to restore the Ipod, which will erase all music and data.

My sons has disabled his i pod touch. He forgot his pass word. What can i do ? It wil not connect to itunes.

With the unit powered off hold the HOME button and connect to your computer. Continue hold the HOME button until iTunes recognizes it as an iPod in recovery mode. At this point you can do a RESTORE. It will wipe out everything on the unit and all music etc will need to be restore but it will be unlocked.

My son has a ipod touch and has put a 4 digit pin on and now has had more that three or so attempts at trying to unlock it. please help as i have no idea.

Plug it back into the computer that you use to manage your music & restore the iPod Touch back to factory settings. This will erase all data on the iPod (you still have all the musics & media on the computer right?) but you will have an unlocked iPod.

Someone have put a code in my sons ipod and he does not know what the code is so can not unlock ipod to listen to music

Unfortunately, you need to restore your son's iPod to remove that passcode-lock. That proceed will remove all data in the iPod. Follow these steps and you'll be all good:

Again, restoring will delete all data on your son's iPod, but this is the only way for you to recover it.

My son has a nano ipod and he locked it with a commbination and forgot it how do i unlock it?

Try plugging it into the computer your son normally syncs it with. Then open iTunes.
After iTunes recognizes the nano, you can eject and disconnect the iPod from the computer. It should be unlocked.

If that does not work, then you'll have to restore the iPod (which will remove *all* music, etc. from the iPod).
You can do that like this:
plug it in to your computer
launch iTunes when iTunes recognizes your nano, Resync the iPod (so the data is saved on the computer) Then click on "Restore" (on the "Summary" tab).

Then follow the onscreen instructions.

You'll need to resync all your music etc. to get it back on the iPod.

Hope this helps!
