Re: tv on off swtch
Are you sure the switch is bad if it is physical probem easy to see. if it is not then you need a multi meter to ohm it out. You most likley will not find the original switch but maybe you can get a generic switch and you might have to modify it.here are place you can get switches

did you purchase these because you thought this was part of the problem? if is a convergance problem you should have some picture it would be distorted or color bars would be on the left or right of the screen. if the light is flashing and you have no picture at all or any audio you have a power supply problem. it is not letting the proper voltage energize the main board.
Something is preventing the power supply from operating:
Possible causes in order of likelihood:
1) Convergence amps failed overloading the supply (See if you can disconnect them)
2) High Voltage circuit has died. (Right on schedule since your TV is 10 years old)
3) One of the CRTs has shorted
4) The power supply itself has died (Is there a lot of dust covering it?)
See if you can isolate the failure by working down the list.
Hope Ya Fix it!
Yes its actually a very easy repair. You need two STK392-110 Convergence ICs and six 1.2 ohm 2watt resistors. You can get the replacement parts and instructions at the following link. http://servicemanuals.vstore.ca/
If The Unit Is Under Warranty There Is A Good Chance You Will Void The Warranty. But If The Unit Isn't Under Warranty I'd Go Ahead And Pull The Real Of The Tv And Repair The Power Cord Just Make Sure Everything Is As It Should Be Before You Put The Tv Back Together And Make Sure There Are No Exposed Wires Anywhere. Sincerely, Michael Scott
I have a toshiba 55hx70 same problem, repair guy just left said it was the power supply and wasnt worth fixing 350 to 400 dollars The tv is 9 years old and they wouldnt even take it to shop. Its been a great tv firs thing to go wrong.. Wo nder if I could replace it myself???
Need to test F470 and F850 for open.. Simple continuity to see if either fuse is open.. If F 470 is open replace it and C884 and if F850 is open you probably you may need to replace the two convergence amps STK392-110... Large black Ic's screwed on an aluminum heat sink...
