What is a wireless net adaptor

A device that adds wireless connectivity to a laptop or desktop computer. The adapter is typically an external module that plugs into a USB port. For desktop computers, the adapter may be on a PCI card, which requires opening the case and plugging the card into an empty slot.

HP Desktop Modem broken ethernet port

Try to load the latest driver, you can get that from HP under your computer. If that does not fix it then go buy a cheap USB Ethernet adaptor from Amazon or BestBuy, plug it in to a spare USB port and follow the directions for the adaptor with your Ethernet cable plugged into the new adaptor.

That is it, you have bypassed the bad Ethernet power and can forget about it (they can't be fixed), you should be good to go.

If you don't want to try the driver, then just get a new adaptor and that will bypass the internal adaptor.

Good Luck

Usb damage

If all the USB ports fail to function, then repairing them is difficult, as the problem will be with the USB controller on the motherboard. If one or two fail to work, but the other ones work, then you have the option of putting a USB extension port into the working USB socket and that will allow you to run several devices from the one port, or, depending on the laptop in question, you can get a USB adaptor PCIMCIA card or Cardbus card that will plug into the expansion slot on the laptop and will give you a more permanent USB solution.

For this to work, there must be at least ONE working USB port

Tne memory card slot is too big do i need some sort of adapter?

Yes,

You've not been too clear but at a guess you've got an SD micro card and you PC has a standard SD card slot.

If so you need an adaptor, you can get some which convert the Sd micro into a standard or plug into a USB slot.

If not as I describe, you've a different kind of card, then you need a multi card reader, a box which accepts a whole bunch of different cards and connects to a usb port.

Have a look on ebay for a micro SD adaptor and/or a universal card reader. You don't have to buy from there but it will give you a good idea of what you're after and about how much one should cost.

If you want to go to a shop, more or less any PC shop should sort you out.

When putting the memory card into the slot, the screen reads 'memory card error'. Also, will not read the camera when plugged into USB socket. Please Help!

Hi there,
The camera port only supports USB-equipped digital cameras that support Pict-Bridge. If you attach a USB device that is not compactible digital camera (or Bluetooth adaptor) to the camera port, an error message appears on the color graphics display. If you have an older HP-brand digital camera, try using the USB that came with the camera. PLug it into the USB port on the back of the HP-all-in-one and not into the camera port near the memory card slots, This works with HP digital cameras only.
By default, Windows XP will format a memory card of 8 MB or less and 64 MB more with the FAT32 format, Digital cameras and other devices use the FAT (FAT 16 or FAT 12) format and cannot operate with a FAT32 formatted card. Either format your memory card in your camera or select FAT format to format your memory card in a Windows XP PC.

Hope this helps.
Thanks.
Have a good day.

How do I use the SanDisk adaptor and the SanDisk 2GB microSD

Hello,

The micro card (the smaller one) can be used alone in a port that accepts (microSD ports)such as those on a Sansa c240, c250, e250 etc.
If you have a regular SD slot (larger than microSD) then you plug the micro card in the adapter and plug the whole into a regular SD slot.

Plug the card in your computer and copy paste the files. Or plug the micro card in an MP3 player that accepts it and use you music transfert software.

You only have one card (the micro SD one), which you can use in two possible slots.

Hope it helps.

Don't know if there is such a adapter, but you can get a PCMCIA USB card.
You can also get a PCMCIA wireless card and these are available from Netgear, DLink and others.

I have a TP link wireless adaptor for an acer aspire T180 pc. I can't work out where to fit it on the motherboard

Providing the wireless adaptor is a PCI card this fits the white slot on motherboard.
Should it be USB, then plugs in the USB port.

Slot for memory card

I assume you are speaking of the USB port to plug the memory card reader into. Some systems have those ports on the front of the machine while others are on the back with the rest of the ports
