You have used either the wrong type of ink or you refilled the cartridges incorrectly - the result was that the ink spilled over on the cartridge contacts and messed them up.
Take the cartridges out, unplug the printer and using a damp q-tip gently and thoroughly clean all the contacts on the carriage. Then buy a new set of remanufactured cartridges like

put them in and run several cleaning and alignment tests. That should be enough to fix it.
In that case sorry but the printing heads connectors are fried. This is fixable but it will cost you almost as much as new printer = not worth it. Just junk it and get a new one. .
Please be more specific when you ask. In that case the problem isn't hardware, it's software - the connection to the pc is off.
Unplug the USB cable , uninstall the drivers, reboot the pc twice, install the driver again and when instructed plug in a new USB cable in a new USB socket.

I cleaned everything with print head cleaner. I inserted new, original, not re-manufactured, cartridges and I left my printer unplugged several times yesterday, as well as all night long. This morning the printer acted like it was printing, but there was no writing.
I can make copies when I scan something, but it won't print when I send word processing from the computer.
Thanks so much. My printer is finally working. I hadn't realized the scanner worked but the data from the computer didn't print until I figured it out. I also didn't realize my printer wasn't hooked up. I had unplugged two cords but forgot and only plugged up one cord. So after a week, my printer now works again (and my many cartridges of ink won't go to waste).
Yes, my computer printer now works. I am so excited. Now I can finish things like taxes, family pictures, etc.
