Question about Toshiba Computers & Internet
To me this sounds like the display has a hardware problem, if you have a silver line on the screen, stuck there constantly no matter what you do with the computer, then its definitely a display panel problem. There might be a connection problem on the small control board on the lcd, you might try pressing on different parts of the edges of the display (on the plastic) and see if this changes.

Yes, the problem is fixable, but first you need to find out where is the fault located.
For that you need to boot in the BIOS by pressing F2 during start: if the streak is still there then the defect is in the LCD panel, it will have to be replaced.
If the streak is gone then the defect is caused by corrupted video drivers and to fix that permanently you will have to reinstall Windows.
