As it is metal, there really is not an easy way to do it. A heavy application of oven cleaner (not the low odor type) may be able to eat it loose. Be sure to ventilate well as the fumes are nasty. Otherwise, you must scrape it off or put a nice new piece of foil over it.

Didn't notice the do not use foil warning in the oven...so unfortunately it's really stuck at the bottom. Can the self-cleaning option work in getting the rest of the foil off?

it may but is unlikely as the self cleaning option raises the oven temperature to a point where the grease and fats are burnt off
unfortunately foil is neither of these
contact the manufacturer service department on line to see what your options are for this job.

How do you clean a convection oven with aluminum foil burnt at the bottom?

Hello,This is why we say no foil on the bottom...I would put it in self clean and see if it burns it off most of the time it will. You can take the two screws out of the back corners of the oven bottom and remove the bottom and soak it too. Hope this helps...Please rate me Thank You

Aluminum foil stuck to new oven bottom - how to remove

(Wear a professional n95 mask and rubber gloves). Use a straight razor and scrape off as much foil as possible. Get a hold of Mercuric or sulfuric acid. BE CAREFUL not to spill anywhere, work close to a stainless steal sink. Poor a little in a small glass container and bring over stove porcelain surface. Pour the acid onto the foil and wait 3-4 minutes, use paper towel to wipe off the acid, and then a soapy wet rag. Repeat process until all foil is dissolved. Then wash surface thoroughly and repeatedly with a soapy dish towel. Once complete run water in the sink for 5 minutes till any possible remaining accid is flushed from the sink. The foil is gone and the porcelain is preserved. Works great! (Don't breathe the fumes and ventelate the area or move the stove outside)

Yes, we were a couple of dummys when we received our brand new LG stove, with convection oven, glass top and very fancy, and we put tin foil to cover the bottom of the stove and of course yesterday when I...

I really don't know what to tell you. During the clean cycyle the metal probably melted and is permantly sealed to the bottom. You are lucky the oven still works. Sometimes using foil will destroy sensors or other things. NEVER use foil in ANY oven!!!!! The only exception is to partially cover the shelf underneath something you know is going to make a mess. Even then don't cover more than about 60% of the rack.(Never do this in a convection oven as the fan will blow the foil ) Also NEVER!!! allow foil to come in contact with a hot burner. It will melt to the smooth top or coil.

Foil baked onto oven base.

Unfortunately, it's too late. The tin foil has melted into the panel and can't be removed. You should never place anything on the bottom of a stove that has a hidden element. You will damage the panel. Oven operation is not affected. The only option you have is to replace the panel or the entire oven liner...
