Long time since I used one of these, and as plain paper faxes are so cheap now I do wonder why you persist with this old technology? You can purchase an all in one printer for under £50. Pick one with a built in LCD screen and you don't even need a PC.
Getting back to your current problem, it sounds as if the paper has been inserted the wrong way around. Try taking the roll out and checking again the correct way to put in the paper. Or maybe the paper roll has been out of its plastic protection for too long causing the paper to degrade. Once it has been exposed to light it is like a film for a camera, it is no good. If this has happened you may try unrolling two or three of the outer layers and cutting them off, and then reload the paper and try again. You may be lucky and find that only the top two layers have been damaged.

SOURCE: Recipient recieves a black page

I have seen the print cartridge not being seeted cause this problem.

  1. Open the front cover by pulling the cover release buttons toward you, and raising the cover.

Slightly lift up on the Laser Printer Cartridge and then pull it toward you, but do not remove it.

WARNING: The Fuser is hot! Use caution when you are working in this area. To prevent damage to the cartridge, do not expose it to light for more than a few minute.

CAUTION: Do not touch the green Photoreceptor Drum. Scratches or smudges on the Photoreceptor will result in poor copy quality and may shorten the life of the cartridge.

  2. Slide the cartridge back down along the slots until it clicks into place.

  3. Close the Front Cover.
Then Unplug an replug in the machine.

SOURCE: My brother fax machine - only receives black pages

do a quick check on 2 things.
- Copy a document(put a printed page on document feeder and press Copy button) , has the Copy come ok? if copy is also blank that means toner/ink problem, needs to be replaced.

- check with your Fax receive Print settings. is any setting of econo mode/ contrast/brightness Off the track? If found any of such issue then Reset it or put it on average (middle).

Hope this will put your Brother on the track

SOURCE: SHARP UX-A1000 - sends all BLACK page (to all

Noisy line? is all that strikes true when you ensure me it makes great photocopys, but then you receive OK, very strange, All the mechanisms for doing a local copy is the same as sending a fax the difference is the conversion to phone noise so it has to be electronic, I;d guess lightning/power surge, cant think of much else....sorry

I can send but it is a blank piece of paper whats the problwem

I imagine you are using a fax to send a copy in which case the printed page goes face down ( the faxing process actually scans the page , turns the data into signal , transmitted by line to the receiver that deciphers the signal and turns it back into readable data
if you put it in printed side up then the receiver will get a blank page as it is blank on the back of the page

Our HP 3015 fax is not sending a readable fax at the receiver's machine. About half the page is readable, and the other half has a series of horizontal lines which makes the balance of the page unreadable....

it only happens when you have something on the scanner

Over time, specks of debris might collect on the scanner glass and white platen, which can
affect performance. Use the following procedure to clean the scanner glass and white platen.
1. Use the power switch to turn off the product, and then unplug the power cord from the electrical socket.
2. Tilt the device control panel forward.
3. Clean the glass strip and the white platen with a soft cloth or sponge that has been moistened with nonabrasive glass cleaner.

hope it solve the problem, if so rate the solution

It is cheaper to use online fax service compared to the conventional fax machine. This way is more flexible as well because you can send and receive faxes anywhere as long as you are connected to the internet. I use Popfax.com fax email service, and it's reliable.

What does COM-E mean when we try to send fax's and the transmissions has this written on it instead of OK.

It means "Communication Error".
The result might be twofold:
- the fax didn't reach it's destination because of communications error (any kind)
- the fax did reach it's destination, but part of it may be unreadable or distorted, or some pages of a multi-page fax did not go through.
In many cases, what the device perceives as an erroneous transmission, is perfectly readable by a human. Therefore it's good to call the recipient and ask if the fax is readable and if all the pages were received.

Intermittently, the confirmation page on the fax says the fax failed (didn't go thru) but it actually did. Why is this? The confirmation page is printing false results, indicating the fax failed to go...

This is because some faxes don't have Error Correction Mode capabilities.

If there's a slight distortion on the line, the receiving machine (without ECM) receives a fax with some minor errors. And even though for a human eye the resulting fax page is perfectly readable, for the machine, that thinks only zeros and ones, there was an error detected in the data, and hence the trasmission failed.
Faxes with ECM when they detect an error, ask the sending fax to re-send the last portion of data, and this way can bring the transmission to a 100% successful end.

So the only thing you can do is ask your recipients to upgrade their fax machines to an ECM-capable model :)

Sent documents are received black

I bet if you make a copy for yourself, the same thing is true.
The scanner bulb (or led array) is dead - meaning there is no light coming on when you scan your originals to send a fax or copy. You would normally be able to see the light(s) light up, if you peek under the auto sheet feeder as your originals are scanning, if not, then it is dead.
