1989 Chrysler 5th Avenue.... transmission repaired about 5 months ago. It seems as though the linkage is out of place. All of a sudden, when I went to start my car, the gears would not go into place. This is not my mechanic's responsibility. However, it would have cost me about $200.00 to tow car home from a long distance. My boyfriend was able to shove the car into gear manually. But, the car's gears do not want to grab. Now, after 2 hours, I went to crank the car and it started like nothing ever happened. Previously, the car did not want to make contact with the starter, electrical systems, etc. What can I do?

Sounds like you have several different things going on.. First get a shop to check your transmission band adjustment, fluid condition and level. Over or under filled trans fluid or contamination could be responsible for part of this. Check connections on starter motor and if non engaging gear becomes a problem again have it bench tested (solenoid/starter)

1994 buick park avenue, idling up and will not idle down

If it's not sticking throttle linkage, and i assume it isn't because you have an engine light on, it's probably a faulty idle control sensor. You can get one at any parts store, and they aren't hard to remove and replace. The parts guy can show you exactly where it is on his screen.
