Question about Sony Handycam DCR-DVD108 DVD Camcorder

1 Answer

Apparently dropped The day before my son's first birthday party my husband had plugged the camcorder into an outlet to recharge and left it on the shelf. The next day apparently one of the unsupervised kids yanked on the cord and it crashed to the ground. I was not told about it and of course no one has any knowledge of it. The camcorder will not open with the disk access button so the video that I took before the party it not retrievable. The first time I turned it on the screen came up normally but the camera made a whirling noise which alerted me that the disc was not clicked mount correctly. Now, the camera is in what appears to be a "black screen of death" because no matter what I try it does not respond.

Dear Mouseylynk,
If you can unscrew and open up camera, you will see very small size fuse on circuit board. one or two of them has blown or open.
If you can change it, please do it. Or go to nearest Sony service shop to fix this problem.

You will find few small screws at sides and bottom of camera cabinet. Open them and there can be 3-4 latches/ locks nearby, try to open font and rear cabinet with care. Now you been reached at circuit board.

Canon zr 200 camcorder won't turn on unless plug into electrical outlet.

Hi, Please charge your battery ( with camcoder Off) for at least 1 hour. Then unplug your charger and turn On your camcoder. If it can not turn on, it is apparently you have flat battery and need replacement.

Flip Camcorder Power Switch does not work

You might try to plug it in to the USB port then go to My Computer and you should find your mino on E or F drive... Click on the drive and you should be able to get to your movies that way. At least you can get them off the camera.

New 840XHD Vivitar Camcorder. Can't get it to turn on.

Can you get into the main menu with the power converter? If so try to set all settings back to factory default.Or try using the power from the computer to do the same via USB.

Look on page 29 of your manual

Are you sure you do don't have the system muted?
Press the Menu, then System Setup, press SET. Select VOLUME then press SET.Adjust the volume with the left/right arrow keys, then click set.

Hope this helps...

If you don't have the manual (although I know you said you read the manual), go to:
