A piece of wood that is cut in half lenghtwise.

Since none of the cuts affect the length, the length of each of the twelve smaller pieces it the same as the length of the original piece.

Hole in kitchen wall. How do I fix it?

First I would cut around the hole using a dry wall knife -I would make it a square. Then get a piece of wood ( 2" high and Then measure the length of the hole if it is 9" then you would need the wood piece to be 11" long.) Insert the wood piece inside the wall (hold on to it) and then drill using dry wall screws from the out side wall into the wood piece you installed. Then cut a piece of dry wall the size of the square you made and insert into the wall then screw into wood piece. Then take some joint compound and spread light over insert dry wall spreading on the old dry wall and let dry and then sand so it is flush with wall.

When I have a large piece of wood on the lathe say 25 lbs or so and when I turn it fairly fast above 600 rpm after it is nicely balanced if I now turn down the speed control the machine shuts down. I

this is a safety feature built in.. if you turn down the speed to fast to keep the motor from sticking and burning out, it cuts off.. if you do it slowly you will be fine unless you go too slow in which case it will happen again.

Coleman bayside 1997 pop up camper, had to remove some motor part related to cranking up. won't stay up unless motor part is put back in. help? female with trouble and wanting to camp this weekend

Sounds like the motor also holds up the top.
can you try to use something loke a broom stick thick piece of wood to hold up the canopy top till you get a chance to get a new motor.
You would prop up the top with a piece of wood right in the same area as the framing.
Tie a piece of string or bungee cord to hold the stick in place,to ensure the top dosent come down on you.
You might need to cut the stick to leanth as well as using more than one piece of wood.
Gool luck,Gary

How do I lock the motor in to remove bolt and replace blade

If there is not a built in lock for the motor simply use a scrap piece of wood. Pull back the blade guard and place the saw on the piece of wood with the teeth logged into the wood. Apply pressure downward on the teeth and remove the bolt holding the blade in place. You can also use a scrap piece of wood to wedge in the saw between the guard and the blade to prevent it from turning. Be careful and make sure you are turning the bolt in the correct direction.

Fix hardwood flooring replace damaged hardwood flooring wood planks

During the whole process be aware of the edges of the flooring that is going to stay. First prepare the area for dust control. Mark the boards to be replaced. With a flat wood bit in your drill, bore a hole near, but not at both ends of the pieces being replaced. Bore only to the sub-floor. Set your circular saw to cut thru the flooring but barely touch the sub-floor beneath. Make two passes with the saw about 1/2" in from each edge. Lift out the center of the piece being removed. With a sharp chisel split the small end pieces at each saw cut and remove. With a chisel, tap the groove side of the piece toward the middle and remove. There may be a little chisel work to get it out. There will be a bit more chisel work on the tongue side. Chisel the tongue side until the fasteners are located and remove them. Remove the piece completely and remove any paper between the flooring and the sub-floor. Vacuum the area to prepare for the new board. Lay the new piece next to the opening and mark the length. If this is end match, t&g at teh ends cut the ends square. I mark heavily and leave my mark when I cut. It can be cut again if it is too long. Choice here are, cut the bottom of the groove and or the tongue off the new board. I leave the tongue and hook the piece in place. Easier to remove it though. Back cut the length on a table saw, being careful not to reduce the size of the face. This will make the bottom of the board narrower than the face. A sander can be used if no table saw is available. Once sized put glue on the sub-floor and put in the replacement piece. If the tongue was left, it must be tapped sideways to get to the point where it will drop in. Do not hit the wood directly. Used a scrap piece as convincer. When lined up, use a scrap piece of wood to drive the new piece down into place. The new board will be thicker and will need sanding. Congrats.

Two pieces of my wood laminate flooring came undone and it is in the middle of a 25X25 room is there anyway to fix that with out taking the whole floor apart. one piece is higher than the other so i need...

If you can get the toungue and groove to go back together and force the two pieces back down flat, you might consider nailing it down with a couple of small brads and then setting and filling the nail holes.
Sometimes it is possible to cut part of the tongue off one piece if the tongue is damaged and won't engage smoothly, but leave enough to keep the piece interlocked with its mate. You can cut it with a sharp utility knife by making repeated cuts.
Mask off the finished area adjacent so you don't damage it.
But why did it come up in the first place? Is it installed too tightly in the room, so that expansion due to changes in humidity has caused it to buckle?
You may need to address the underlying cause for any repair you do to last...
I hope this helps to shed a little light on a difficult situation....
