Cobra MicroTalk PR-3550WX - Static after transmission

Hi I just bought the abovementioned walkie-talkie. When i transmit a message its okay but after the transmission ends, the "roger" confirmation tone is transmitted, there is about another 2 seconds of STATIC received before it goes silent. Abit like the auto-squelch takes some time to work.

I tried switching off the "roger" confirmation but the same thing happends.(and it happends for both radios)

I have this same issue with some Cobra's of mine. I have 6 total that are doing this. If anyone has a solution or any ideas I'd love to hear it. I've tried everything I can think of...

    Thanks!

Do you leav the cobra micro talk walkie talkies on when charging

Also, never transmit with them in the charging cradle. I know, lots do but you risk ruining the radio beyond repair.

One of my walkie talkie has an RX on the display and you can send but you cannot hear the other person. How can I remove the RX as that seems to be the only difference in them. Thank you

depending on what radio you have, they are programmed in different ways, rx means recieve signal

and tx means transmit signal, if you have a mode button, you will have to scroll through it until you

get to the menu that allows you to change the radio transmission. it looks like that radio is only

programmed to receive signals and not transmit. good luck!
