Sounds like your Motor went to fault and grounded out.
To check your motor:

ALWAYS UNPLUG YOUR DRYER BEFORE ATTEMPTING TO DO ANY WORK ON IT.
Sounds like your problem may be a faulty motor.
If you have to check/replace/repair your drum motor, drum seals, belt, rollers, etc.
If replacing drum seals be sure to use a good grade of weather proof cement to hold the seal/s in place.
Note: This method works for most front loading machines.
Remove the electrical console that holds the timer switch, start switch, etc. from the top of the dryer. Be real careful not to knock any of the wires off of the timer switch or other electrical connections.
Remove the lint filter and the screws that hold the filter housing.
Then remove the top of the dryer.
Note: Some of the tops tilt backwards and do not have to be removed completly.
Remove the front of the machine, this will expose the belt and drum, remove the drum and belt and this will expose the drum rollers, idler arm bracket with pulley, and motor with pulley. Pay attention to the route of the belt, this will come in handy when you go to reinstall the belt and drum.
Sometimes the belt will slip off of the idler arm or motor causing the drum not to turn.
While you have the drum out, I would recommend that you lubricate the drum rollers at the shaft of the roller with a good grade of machine oil like 3 in One oil. This will save you a problem later with the rollers getting noisy, also check your drum rollers for flat spots, if they have flat spots on them this will cause a noise like a thumping type noise. You will need to replace the drum rollers if they have flat spots on them.

Why won't dryer start?

The door switch frequently fails on clothes dryers. You can check it by manually holding the tab tight to the panel and attempt to start the dryer. There should be a distinct click of a switch behind the panel when you depress the tab.

If dryer works when manually depressing tab but not when door is closed slightly bend the tab out to futher increase the travel of the tab when the door closes.

No click likely bad switch!

Replacement requires qualified technician. Part is inexpensive and readily available.

Control panel turns on but dryer won't start. Start/pause button flashing as usual, but just beeps twice when pushed.

That generally means the door is open. Assuming you have the door closed I would investigate the switch that tells the dryer the door is open. It may be bad.

Fridgidaire dryer aeq6000es. won't start, beeps 3 times with error message dr

Hello
This code means the dryer door is not closed or the door safety switch is not making a good connection at times. The dryer door safety switch is in the opening of the door and when the door is closed the switch button is depressed. If the control circuit board doesn't get a signal that the dryer door switch is closed it will not allow the dryer to start.. Try firmly closing the dryer door a 2nd time when this happens, if that cures the problem you are good to go, if that doesn't cure the issue you must remove the front panel of the dryer and replace the switch. If you need a switch they are available from Sears Direct for about $15.00 Below is a picture of the switch that most likely used in your model and make, the button on top is what the dryer door depresses when closed..

I have hotpoint wma62 and door lock light flashes, machine will not start as door will not lock any clues ???

Hiya,
yes, i can help..

Firstly, lets start simple. Have you noticed the door lever/handle has got "floppy"? or loose? or easy to squeeze?
This is the most common reason, what happens is there are 2 bits of spring steel behind the handle, these either break or become weak, to test this theory, close the door, put your finger between the handle and the door and push the handle towards the glass, if this works then you need a new spring/handle.
Please let me know,

The light burned out last week and now the dryer won't turn on

Some dryers that have an interior light that is controled by the door switch, check the light to see if it's burned out, if it's not your door switch may be bad, when you open the door the door switch allows the interior light to come on, when you close the door the door switch shuts the light off, a bad door switch will not allow your dryer to start.

The door is not compltely closing. Make sure to push it in hard around the clasp areas. If yours has a light, the light should turn off and on as you open and close the door.
