Don't advise tipping it over on its side. You can run it up car ramps, jack it up, eigther way should give you enough room to get to blades from the bottom. I use a comealong hooked to the rafter and lift the front end and stand mower upright real good acess, easy on the back.

How to level the mower deck

There are many possible answers, but the best way I've found and for all types of mowers is:
Put the mower on a level garage floor or pavement area. Rise the mower deck to the highest level. By hand (everything off, of course), position both blade tips to the furthest outside edge of the mower deck (widest from tip to tip). Use two wood blocks or equivalent sized objects and place them under the blade tips. Find something that comes very close to the blade but doesn't touch. This is so you can see a gap for reference sake. Adjust the linkages (usually long links, from front of tractor) until the spacing is the same between both blade tips and the objects under them.
The manual has you measuring the blade tips. I find blocks or spacers easier...

I have a Toro model number 20622 auto start go forward and backward the blade won't turn it's like it's got a break on it how do I get this to work when I pulled the lever nothing happens

Anon, a lot of these Toro decks do have a type of brake on one of the idler arm and pulley to stop blade. You will have to get a repair/service manual if your owners manual does not show it. Normally can be seen in deck belt installation diagram. If blade brake checks out OK, it is possible one or both blade spindles bearings are seizing.
Check the attached links, instruction and guides, Good luck

Poulan self propelled 22in blade hit a rock broke tip of blade starts then stalls

Did you bend the crankshaft. To check this out remove spark plug wire and tip mower on it's side and turn blade by hand and watch the shaft the blade is fastened on to. There should be no wiggle motion what so ever and if there is it may be bent causing the engine to not operate properly.

Husqvarna instructions

On ZTRs you raise the whole front of the mower including the deck. To prevent the blades from while loosing and tightening you use a wooden block between the blade tip and the mower deck.
When retightening the blade torque the blade bolt to 45-55 ft/lbs (60-75 Nm).

How to fix a 3.5 lawn mower?

HELLO,
You can fix these yourself, all you have to do is to follow the instructions below,
1 Remove the spark plug lead from the spark plug and move away from cylinder head. Always do this before attempting any repairs to a lawnmower.
2 If your lawnmower is a "four stroke" mower (separate gasoline and oil), tip the mower so that the spark plug is pointing skyward. Never tip it on its side with the spark plug to the ground.
3 If your lawnmower is "2 stroke" (oil and gasoline mixed) turn off fuel tap. You can tip a two stroke mower any way that is suitable to you.
4 To change a blade, or blade disc, it is often easier to remove the spark plug and feed a length of string into the cylinder head to 'lock' the piston while trying to un-do the blade bolt(s).
5 Check the motor's "air filter" while doing this sort of maintenance as a dirty or clogged air filter will affect engine performance and increase fuel consumption of your mower. Symptoms of a clogged air filter include inability to start, starting and quickly stopping after several sputters, or a weak idle. You may also see oily or smoky exhaust.
6 If your mower is a "four stroke" model, change the oil at least once a year. When it is tipped over with the spark plug in the air, is a good time to remove the "oil fill" plug and drain oil into an old ice-cream container for recycling.

I hope this will help to solve the problem.....

I have a yardman 6.5 h,p.push mower. How do I drain the oil to change it and how do I remove the blade to sharpen it?

I am assuming you have a Briggs & Stratton motor. If you have a "yardman" engine the procedure is still the same.
Changing the oil: Your mower does not have a drain plug on the bottom of the mower. Remove the dipstick and tip the mower over on that side. Let the oil run out and leave it tipped over for 5 minutes or so to get all the old oil out. Replace it with 22 oz of good 10w30 or straight 30w oil. I personally use Mobil One and change it once a year.
Blade: With the mower turned over you will see a bolt in the center of the blade. Remove that bolt and the blade will come off. Use a box-end or socket so you don't mess up the nut. It may be hard to loosen at first. Inspect the blade. If it has not large nicks or the dings and the back of the blade is not worn too much (the curved part) you can sharpen it with a file or grinder. Try to take the same amount off of both ends of the blade. (If you want to know how to balance the blade let me know)
If the blade has large dings, is bent different on one side more than the other, or parts of it have cracks, replace it with a new one.

Don't forget to change the air filter.
